A 3rd plus something lower in the 2020 draft is the highest they should go. 2nd rounders have been historically bad when Jerrah and the scouting department have too much say. It finally looks like they understand that you sometimes have to draft solid picks without trying to hit home runs in the second.

Just keep drafting CW and Awuzie types, and finally build quality cheap depth. QB, blindside tackle, cornerback, defensive end, wide receiver are the positions you give up ones and twos for (no matter if they are all world). And that's if they will make a dramatic improvement to that position on your squad.

This team needs in no particular order solid backup at both tackle, guard, and center. Upgrades at wide receiver, tight end, yes safety, and defensive tackle (1-tech). Not to mention a possible need to upgrade QB position if Dak flounders this year.

a 2nd round if you have a decent draft, can become a Sean Lee or D-Law, not a good trade if you consider the age of E.T and his salary.

What if you are Jerry and ET tells you that if he can wear the star, he will play another 6-8 years and do everything possible to keep playing at a high level. Would it be worth taking a chance then knowing draft picks can be busts as well. At least with ET you are gambling on the continuation of a proven commodity. With draft picks, you are gambling on unknown commodities.

According to NFL’s Ian Rappaport, the Seahawks are seeking a 2nd rounder “and change” (whatever that means) for Earl Thomas and the Cowboys are offering a 3rd rounder.

The good news is that this means that conversations are still happening. This isn’t that far apart. You have to think that this deal is going to get done.

There's no way this team is trading for him. They've gone all in on the youth bandwagon and this is not that direction. Get over it.

I'd rather see another Dez thread than another ET thread at this point.

Sounds like it's not happening if all these media outlets are reporting that they turned down our offer. You usually hear about terms and then the trade happens. Rarely do you hear of an offer being turned down and then the trade getting done.

He's reporting to Seattle. Seattle benefits as ET needs to play his butt off for that new contract somewhere next year.

Williams is available. Throw that guy in there, both back up QBs are available. We don't have any linemen on either side to offer, maybe they want one of our back up safeties or something.
