I'd rather see him sit and save the Cowboys $2 mil on this years cap which can be rolled into next season.

If it benefits the cap then I too would like to see him sit.

If it means nothing for next year then I hope he gets his money.

It's puzzling why the players' agents don't negotiate a graduated scale for performance goals instead of a single make-it-or-break-it number.

The players would still have the same problems because as soon as a player got close to the next tier of incentives I'm willing to bet that team management would find an excuse to limit their playing time in order to save money.

So why play him for 1 snap if youre just going to pay him anyway? Either let him play enough snaps to earn it, play him normally, or sit him.

I guess you would want to go as the contract calls for.

But I heard in pre-game he is definitely out so who knows.

They can redo his deal and pay it out that way I suppose.

Its a non-issue it would seem.

Some real sick people in this thread... "I hope he sits out so he misses out on his 2 million". How would you people feel if the roles were reversed and it was your 2 million at stake? Idiots

Bush league move is this was money and not hamstring driven. Free agents (and their agents) notice this kind of thing, so do the players in our locker room.

I don't think they withheld lee over money. They would have sat Hardy too to hold off on his bonuses. I don't think Jerry would cause a huge locker room rift doing something like that.

Lee contract has this 80% clause for every season. DAL gave him a 10m signing bonus and 5.5m for 2014 when he didn't play a snap. It reall yisn't about fairness.

It was really only a story because of how close it was. He started the game at 82% of the snaps. BY missing the game he will fall to 77%.

He was not healthy enough to play. He tried to warm up and couldn't go.

Jones will do something. THAT will be the message sent to free agents and the locker room.
