Sean Lee Helped Off Field ***Left knee injury per JG***

Sucks. One of the only defenders I had confidence in and he doesn't even make it out of the first team gathering.

Next time you get mad when your cell phone acts up, I'll say "Why don't you get your PhD from MIT and create your own."

See how silly your argument is?

That might be the dumbest analogy I've ever read here, and there have been some whoppers.

Earlier tweets indicated Lee was playing in a frenzy, like a madman, flying around on first day of OTAs. Unfortunate, but first day in shorts, come on....he was slipping and engaged with Martin.

Now....we did draft a ILB to be the backup, and that's good, but since this happened so early, which is fortunate if it's going to happen at all, do we consider Carter in the middle since he played so much better inside two years ago in the 3-4 and took over other aspects of Lee's position as well?

No offense to the rookie, but you still need a starter and a backup. I'd go with Carter now and let the rookie back him up until they show something different.

Seriously? Subtract ware, lee and Austin. Witten and romo another year slower and you see 10-6? Definitely spiked kool aid

I agree that 10-6 is unlikely, but saying that Ware and Austin being taken away is the reason for that makes no sense. Neither did anything of substantial value.

That and he can't stay on the field at all. That is frustrating as well when the supposed leader of your defense is a china doll. I'm sure it's a lot of "not this again with him".

Well it's time for one of them to step up and become the leader. I agree, it's tough to consider Lee a true leader of the defense when he is consistently hurt. Instead of whining about it, how about Carr, Carter, Church, etc. step up and take that spot? Wouldn't that be the logical next step?

I'm ready to move on. Sign Angerer to a cap friendly contact move Carter or Holloman inside and prep Hutchins to take over asap. Holloman is the wild card here, the kid's talent allows flexibility and he was probably the best defender on the field against Philadelphia wk. 16 last season.

When we go frustrated about football players, you say "Go play football."

When you get frustrated with your phone, I'll say "Make your own."

I don't see the problem. As consumers we develop a certain level of expectation. If you want to preach no complaining, then be consistent.

Sean Lee is a player, and seems like a leader and nice guy, but his constant injury situation makes him unreliable.

Teammates are upset due in part b/c they know how much work Lee puts in at VR. Look at Church...he's disgusted.

That's right.

They had an outstanding offseason participation this year and had several players talking each other up due to the > comraderie, etc.

Three things enter their minds:
Sux1 -- that guy has put in SO much work to get back out there
Sux2 -- that really hurts our defense
Sux3 -- that could just as easily have been me

Do we get a trophy for that? No. I don't think anyone ever questioned his work ethic. But he's injury prone and built of glass and there is no getting around that.

Chalk it up to another injury plagued player that will fizzle out and produce nothing for us. But it's our fault for taking a huge risk on him.

Nope, but I am a grown man so I don't get mad at guys for what they can't control, whether we receive a trophy for that or not.

This would be less traumatic if we had even one other linebacker which was an NFL caliber starter.

It is but one can not just step up and become a leader like that. Leadership traits are not easily learned. It takes time. And many never have it. Goes for the business world as well. Some are more adequate to follow suit and not lead.

I honestly don't know who the leaders on this team are. I really don't think we have strong leaders, which hurts us at times. Especially in times like this.

For those holding out hope the trainers and doctors are wrong, don't forget that Lee tore his left ACL before, so he probably knew right away, and they say his demeanor indicated he knew the severity.

Just the Cowboys and their fans' luck.

The silver lining is that this happened extremely early...early enough for his replacement to be prepared mentally and physically to start.
