It looks like Zack Martin flattened him on the play. Totally Zacks' fault. If we drafted Johnny Football, Lee would still be out there. /sarcasm

Werder said too, that Martin and Lee were engaged, lee was slipping and Martin pancaked him. Right after that he brought up the possible rule violation. Says the NFLPA would be the ones to bring up a rule violation.

Of course Werder said that, I'm not surprised. Guy is an ambulance chaser.

Not to be unkind, but.......
I'm assuming Dallas built in some insurance on that Lee contract. Didn't he have to play 80% of snaps to reach maximum? That is very unlikely to happen, so maybe the contract wasn't a disaster even if his loss this season feels like one.

I watched the video. Did the lineman do anything really wrong? I know there was no hitting but it looked like he was going to block Lee and Lee slipped or something. At first it looked like he should have pulled up but I can't tell....

All you see is the end of it. I doubt Martin just ran him over. Nobody else is going that hard and running people over so if that's how he was playing someone would have lit into him quick

He probably went to just engage just to make the repetition worth actually doing and Lees knee gave out. How many ACLS have ever been torn by getting knocked on your butt? Lees knee probably went out at just the right time to cause Martin to be expecting some resistance that wasn't there.

Wow, rook...maybe let off the gas a little? It's not like he even fell on him. Dude shoved him shoulder first into the turf.

Exactly... You can even pause it and slow it down from :08 to :09 or so. He does start to slip but then Martin extends his arms and drives him into the ground. So it's not that Lee just slipped down and Martin tripped over him like some are suggesting.

Just an overzealous rookie not understanding the different types and speeds of NFL practices on his first day. He's hardly the first, but it still sucks.

By all accounts, Martin is a great dude. But at least in the short term, whether he deserves it or not, there's going to be a bit of cloud over his head in and out of the locker room
Not saying it's fair, but Lee is very popular.
Martin is gonna be a good one though.

For the crowd that thinks the defense is terrible either way and this doesn't matter:

Disagree. I want that motor, and Zack will dominate in this league for YEARS. He gave a pro-bowl caliber player a shove block in space. Hardly dirty, but it showed me the kid is assignment savvy and physically game-day ready this instant.

Both the Cowboys camp and Sean Lee's camp fear ACL according to the Fan, which isn't great considering Lee's had the injury before. Seems like worst case is officially the most likely case.

Yes.
He is our best defender when he's on the field. A real difference-maker. That's what sux so bad.

From the video, it's pretty clear that the leg wasn't in peril until Martin made contact. I think Martin was expecting Lee to hit him square but Lee was already losing traction.

That said, it wasn't even that hard a hit, it looked as violent as it was because Lee was already on the way down but it's not like Martin bowled into his legs. He tried to engage Lee up high and there was no resistance because Lee was already going down.
