Anyone who counting on him not get hurt this year was just fooling themselves. Even the team seemed to lack confidence in him not getting hurt, thus the 4th round pick. I'm actually not the least bit upset because I knew this was going to happen at some point. It's time to let Lee go populate some other team's training room and concentrate on getting someone else who can stay on the field ready to play MLB.

Is Jerry ever going to give a big deal to someone who goes on to earn it? Ever?

I hate to bring it up in this thread as I feel bad for Lee, but it seems like we are absolutely cursed. It's just like we pay players and one way or another it all falls apart.

This extension was baffling to me. Just as much as the draft pick itself. We took a chance on the draft pick and he could not stay healthy. So what do we do? Invest more time and money into the guy. Incentive based or not, it was not a smart move. We could have already been looking for his replacement.

May be time to look for a replacement in the draft. I know he's still young, but god he gets hurt every year.

If its incentive based, then it was a smart move. I don't know the details of his contract. But if its indeed incentive based then it was a smart move.

there is no one on the roster than can replace Lee, but now we will see if Holloman pans out and also if we spent our 4th round pick wisely....

...lets wait for the confirmation from the MRI before jumping to conclusions...

This is yet another in a long streak of bad luck and general misfortune of the Dallas Cowboys. Sucks big time, and now we have to scramble about for a replacement, and yes, I am assuming the worst case scenario that he is out for the year because that would just be par for the bad luck course.

Everyone knew Lee would get hurt. If you didn't you were wearing JJ colored glasses....

Really? Jerry pays to those who earn it all the time. And when we do, it gets poo-pooed by the haters because they find fault with it. It was a freak accident. Sean is no slouch. It's not like he doesn't put his time in (film room and weights). His play on the field warranted his contract. He makes plays. The contract is warranted. It's merely bad luck. It happens, but because you love the Cowboys, you wanna blame Jerry for handing out a contract to a damn good MLB that got planted by a rookie looking to prove himself in Martin's first practice against veterans.

even negative people in here could not have seen this coming

I will look for the thread where I said I didn't expect him to play 4 games this year... I LOVE him when he plays.... But, it's time to see someone else.. I like Hitch, and if he works out, it will be for the best...

Time to tank for the #1 overall pick next year so we can draft our QB of the future

Honestly would rather do this though than go 8-8 again or 7-9 tbh..

While I am not railing on Jones for the contract, the most prudent contract would have had him have to earn it. I like the way they did protect themselves with the playing time incentives, but I will not say the contract was "warranted". There was risk. And apparently that risk has now come to its inevitable conclusion. It is what it is. Jones has wasted more money on more worthless causes before so I really do not care anymore at this juncture.

He will always uses hope in his negotiation strategy.

Miles Austin?
Roy Williams?
Ken Hamlin?
Doug Free?
Brandon Carr?
Romo (Been hurt less success)?
Ware (Same as Romo)?
Ratliff?
Galloway?

Jerry gave them all big deals and they flopped after. These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Look forward to more Garrett in '15. ya know he just never had a chance and we need to see him one more year. And just think, by then Romo will be 35 and I'm sure we'll have more excuses to bring him back for '16.
