Sean Lee Helped Off Field ***Left knee injury per JG***

First chance I had today to check on how OTAs went. Of course this is the first news I get.

This is just Sean Lee. He cannot avoid injury. Great player when healthy but that actually works against us since we need him so much in this defense and he can't be relied upon to stay in there.

Even if Martin went too hard sooner or later Lee was gonna get hurt again. Honestly might as well prepare for it from the beginning. Martin will be here a lot longer than Lee so I don't want anyone giving him grief.

Typical day for a Cowboys fan, injury and heartbreak :(

Such a shame. Easy guy to love and root for but he cant stay healthy.... :(

Life and times of a Cowboy fan.

Well this one was a contact one right? Martin falling on him caused it?

I would say this is more non-contact than contact. His knee was buckling out well before Martin was on top of him.

From here on out, the Cowboys need to approach every offseason/free agency/draft as if Sean Lee doesn't exist.

How do you avoid injury?

Couple this with the video of Golden Tate ear holing him, it makes you wonder if part of his problem is field awareness. He might be too focused on the ball for his own good.

I agree. I feel that it is time to let a very good player go. Sad day that is no surprise.

Didn't Tate play for the Seahawks?

Good point on the field awareness.

He was not injury prone in college.

The fact that this keeps getting repeated is astounding.

What do you call tearing your ACL in 2008? When a person has an injury history, he is an injury risk. You take the chance and you get burned sometimes.

We can't let him go, at least fiscally. Another quality Jerry Jones extension.

We do need to mentally move on, as in prepare like he will not be a part of this team's immediate future.

Stop drafting loads of bargain players that missed time in college from injuries.

The moral of this story is not to avoid drafting elite talent that has some injury history but more to not financially commit to that same talent even after they have pretty much affirmed the trait is not something that happens by chance.

I really did not even have a huge issue with the extension as opposed to others and I am appreciative it was structured with some protection in mind. Still does not make it the best thing that could have happened.

It is not a bad contract as far as contracts go. I'm sure we will look closer and see that his missed games will bring down the contract size substantially. The Jones didn't Jones around on this Agreement with Sean. And we need to address the position and have an abundance of good linebackers coming in next year by FA & draft.

The moral is to stop drafting the gimps!

If he misses this season, he'll have played one combined season in the past three years. That's Oden-esque.

Is Jerry ever going to give a big deal to someone who goes on to earn it? Ever?

I hate to bring it up in this thread as I feel bad for Lee, but it seems like we are absolutely cursed. It's just like we pay players and one way or another it all falls apart.
