yeah just heard it on the radio here in D.C. Good for us Commander fans, bad for taylor as im sure he would of rather missed one game than being fined 4 game checks. I just hope he takes out his anger out on the opposing teams heh.

I don't understand. I thought any type of significant run in with the law results in a set of game suspensions, especially when you plead guilty.

Don't you remember? He pleaded "no contest". What a saint!

Our esteemed Commish the Commanders season ticket holder had the choice of punishment

once again a skin skates by with less then what any other team player would get. He should have been suspended for at least one game.

Also just heard if Taylor has no issues off the field then he will get two of those four checks back

Interestingly, the prior precedent set by other offenders was not applied here.

Hmmmm, that's something.

So, Irvin gets an "extra" game suspension (instead of the standard four), whereas a 'Skin, whose crime was equally as despicable (one could argue more because violence was actually involved), gets off without even a slap on the wrist. How fitting for a biased commish.

our esteemed Commish has sweet FA to do with suspensions -- that falls entirely under Gene Washington's authority.

I hate to defend Tags, but he has no authority over suspensions

I'm assuming D found that blurb from some official site - it says the Commissioner. There is evidence to the contrary? I'm not saying Paul himself is doling out punishments, but it looks from that blurb like it's under his supervision.

Linkage?

No big deal. When we beat them, they won't have that built in excuse that the spitter didn't play :)

The NFLPA disagree with you

Commish's designee for player suspensions is Gene Washington.

Yes, techically Tags is in charge of everything that comes out of the office but part of Washington's job is to oversee suspensions.

It is just plain conspiracy theory-level thinking to believe Tags is influencing this outcome.

Note that commishioner here refers to the office of the commishioner. Also note that throughout the CBA you will read "commish" -- That doesn't mean Tags does everything. It means his OFFICE is responsible and he can delegate tasks in any way he sees fit.

Within the office, people have different responsibilities -- Gene Washington is, and has been, in charge of discipline for several years now.
