Sensabaugh has visits lined up — 3:30 p.m.

We'll see how much they like Michael Hamlin.

Wouldn't be surprised if they let Sensy walk and gave Mike the job.

I'm amazed by the posts in this thread.

Sensabaugh basically shut down the best TE's we faced all season long. He is exceptional in coverage on TE's, and he showed up more in all coverage than Hamlin.

I don't believe for a second that Dallas will let him walk...I think they felt safe with a 2nd round tender and want to see what the market offers.

When you let your good players walk and have to replace them, you usually take a step backwards in the transition. This team is already very good and should continue upgrading.

I agree. A second round pick is still an unknown in the NFL. Still has good chance of being a bust and probably won't contribute as much at least till his soph yr.

I like Sensabaugh. I think he'll be real good SS. Good at run and pass. If he has his cast off, he probably would have 4-5 ints.

I rather keep him than take an unknown 2nd rounder who PROJECTS to do whatever but hasn't done squat.

It's typically better to let a guy compete for his job, rather than just handing it to him. Maybe it's just me, but handing an inexperienced player a starting job just sounds a bit risky.

Why the hate? Sensy is one of the better Strong Safeties you'll find. He's turning 27 in June, and this was his first year in Wade's system. He likes to hit and is athletic enough to provide good coverage, not to mention shutting down the best TE's. One of the best receivers in the NFL made him look like a fool in man coverage so there are some haters. Whatever, there isn't a SS in any football league that can cover Sidney Rice streaking with absolutely no bump coverage. He's a football player and I hope we keep him, a second is not worth it.

I don't know about that; I saw plenty of missed tackles and miscues from Sensabaugh this year...

I liked sensis play besides the TD in the vikes game. He was solid and played with a broken wrist practically the whole season. He already showed us that he can cover and hit and he'll be better in the system his second year. Id hate to see him go.

It's not just you. And it isn't going to happen.

Right. It's amazing how people thinks he's not that good. I thought he played great and he and Brooking were big difference makers. Even with his cast.

I don't think he's really going to end up leaving. He wants a long term deal to stay with the team. Jones will make it happen.

Sometimes I really just don't understand football fans. We had the #2 ranked Defense in terms of scoring. We had to have been doing something right. That includes our Safeties and one of them played much of the year with a cast on one hand.

Yet people honestly want to change both of them in one off season?

I would really like to see one instance of this happening for any team that someone can show me and it propelled them to greatness. Is it too much to ask for even one example?

More likely you are going to find that it has led to disaster for that team. Why? Because there is no chemistry.

I would like to add more INTs too. Only an idiot wouldn't. But that isn't going to happen if we play 2010 with 2 new people back there and one of them is a rookie. No way, no shape, no how. That is ridiculous.

I get frustration. But does being frustrated mean you have to lose all common sense?

Respect the opinion, but totally disagree with it. Our safeties are not playmakers, although Sensabaugh deserves somewhat of a pass because the cast clearly hampered him from making a couple of picks, and he did have 8 passes defensed (which still isnt that good). Of course there was the incredfibly mindless play vs Minnesota where cast or no cast, there jsut wasnt any excuse for what he did (nothing)

Interceptions arnt everything, but when your two starters combine for 1 pick and your FS has 1 in his last 35 games, thats a problem. To think that replacing one, or even both of them would be a negative to the defense is hard to argue for.

NFL | Sensabaugh receiving interest
Sat, 06 Mar 2010 15:06:24 -0800

Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys restricted free-agent SS Gerald Sensabaugh is drawing interest from three or four teams, according to his agent. The Cowboys assigned a second-round tender on Sensabaugh.

I didn't say we were either. I said we had to be doing something right. If we change those 2 spots we will go backwards. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. One I can see. Both is pure goofy.

How can you say that for certain when both our guys are mediocre to average at best, and the guys who replace them could be alot better?

I'm sorry, but getting rid of Hamlin and Sensabaugh and potentially having Bethea/Thomas or Allen , or even M Hamlin would hardly be a step backwards.
