Separated at Birth: Russell Wilson and Tony Romo

Absolutely. Wilson's arrow is pointed way up. He is no where near his peak potential. If he can continue his current projectory, he should certainly surpass Romo in terms of career success. However, Romo is and has been a top level (not elite) QB for several years. Wilson still has his work cut out for him if he aims have a better career than Romo.
That's fair.

But you just implied the moment was too big and he couldn't handle it.

You know the generic national talking point. Like Harrison saying he prepaired for romo while n San Diego.

The moment wasnt too big and it wasn't mental pressure that ruined the play...it was real pressure on smith getting pushed back and Leary bumping romo.

Oh and Wilson does not have more playoff wins than romo.

I never said Wilson had more playoff wins than Romo i don't believe..

What i was trying to suggest though was simply that at some point, when you don't come through enough times, and its always because of a different reason, it's probably not just coincidence anymore..

Oh I've never said Romo hasn't been surrounded by talent. I've been critical of Romo and I've been very vocal in the past on it maybe a bit overboard as well. But what's changed is going back and looking at the big picture and not the plays that have been put under a microscope and I think that's been the problem every mess up by romo is under a microscope and I think the problem has been coaching for Romo. I think JG has ruined his career personally. But as a talent and
Moxie. And the it factor Romo has it all and a guy I would start my franchise around any day of the week. He's a never say die kinda QB
I think you're really onto something there.

As a side note, has there ever been a more controversial player in franchise history? I know that Danny White had people on both ends of the fence, but Romo is so incredibly black and white, there's no gray.

More generic talking points. Every game is different. We have come back a ton under romo.

Which year did we have a top five defense? Are you referring to 09?

Enough ---you have been warned once by Jobber..Stay on thread without the personal comments --or enjoy your vacation.

Do you have those exact statistics handy by chance? I think that Romo has several things working against him:
- He plays for America's Team.
- His mistakes feel like they come on the biggest stages (Seattle, Washington, Denver, etc...).
- Everything is black and white with him, no gray at all when it comes to opinions.

Yes, the 09 season when we only allowed 15.6 PPG.

We were top five in points once in his career, we went 11-5 and won a wild card game.

I mean that pretty much explains it.

He has had one good defense and one 1,000 yd rusher.

Pretty hefty burden to carry.

I don't disagree with what you're saying here.. im just sick of seeing the posters who say if Romo ever had a good defense we'd win a championship.

It's a pretty important statement.

The defenses In his time have repeatedly blown the leads he has given them in the fourth quarter.

It has happened time and time again. Most fans only remember what the qb's did because its easy to remember and because the national media most listen to only talk about qb's.

The informed fans understand the grey area and what has happened here.

I agree here as well. It's pretty crappy for Romo actually TE dude is super talented and I think Chip Kelly summed it up if you love QB play you just get mesmerized by him. I for one am gonna enjoy the next couple of years because when he's gone it will be sad. A lot of people will be kicking themselves that they didn't sit back and enjoy it.

The informed fans also understand why a statement like, "Well if we'd ever have a decent defense, we'd win a championship with Romo." is silly.

You guys just can't play nice. We're tired of having to constantly watch the thread and some of you are going to get into trouble. Thread closed.
