Separated at Birth: Russell Wilson and Tony Romo

So, you don't like to hear "facts" huh?

Romo has more yards. He has more TDs. He has a high 4th quarter QBR. He has a much higher completion rating. By every objective metric, he is a better quarterback.

But hey, you have "mental toughness," which is complete nonsense.

So you're taking the fantasy football route? Okay.

Would you like an example?

Romo played a hall of fame caliber game the other week, and then right at the end, we blew it.

Was it all his fault we lost? Certainly.. no.

Did he have the ball put in his hands at the end of a game with a chance to lock it down? Yes.. and blew it.

Im sure aside from that pick at the very end, his fourth quarter numbers were much like his first three quarter numbers.. phenomenal.

But again.. we didn't get the job done.

Like i said, numbers aren't everything. Im sure Romo would trade in all his statistical success in a minute for even a couple more playoff wins.

Haha, wow. Absurdly silly logic.

You're saying that, if Romo had Seattle's defense, we wouldn't have won that game?

Conversely, if Wilson replaced Romo in that game, we would have lost but far, far more points.

How does that make him better then Romo? I think he is better them Kap and light years better then RGOverrated and a few other QBs but I don't see that as being better then romo Roy.

I don't think he's better than Romo.

Still, i can agree with some of what the guy said.

If your going to point out that specific, you should finish explaining what happened.

Tyron smith stepping on his foot and Leary bumping him. Ruined the play.

Excellent post. Being a huge Cowboy/Romo fan living in Seattle, I appreciate and echo many of your opinions.

While I agree Wilson's "mentality" and athletic ability are top level for a QB, his accuracy and decision making are not there yet.

There's no doubt that he has his moments where he looks like a second year QB. But don't you get the feeling that he's the kind of guy that will correct them as he progresses in his career?

I'm not sure whether to respond to your content here or correct your several grammatical errors.

Its always something.. its like he's cursed.

I'm not saying he's wrong but I think the Wilson is better then romo comment is just absurd. He's a 2nd year player and hasn't had to try and carry a team like Romo has.

Yes, so nothing to add again? Good show.

lol

You are the one who's going to talk about a "show" after your Little Big Man performance in this thread?

I'll add this.. Romo has had a top 5 defense before, and yet no championship. So come up with a different theory..

But you just implied the moment was too big and he couldn't handle it.

You know the generic national talking point. Like Harrison saying he prepaired for romo while n San Diego.

The moment wasnt too big and it wasn't mental pressure that ruined the play...it was real pressure on smith getting pushed back and Leary bumping romo.

Oh and Wilson does not have more playoff wins than romo.

I have no interest in espousing theories to the type of fan who thinks QBs are responsible for all good and ills faced by a team.

Oh, and when did Romo have a Top 5 defense for an entire year?

I disagree. Wilson struggled to get started last season, but he absolutely had to carry the team through several key victories. I recognize that the team isn't where it needs to be, but people seem to act as if Romo has never been surrounded by talent. The guy may not have always had an elite OL (nor does Wilson), but the guy has always had some of the best weapons in the league surrounding him.

Name the games where Wilson "carried" his team to victory.

Absolutely. Wilson's arrow is pointed way up. He is no where near his peak potential. If he can continue his current projectory, he should certainly surpass Romo in terms of career success. However, Romo is and has been a top level (not elite) QB for several years. Wilson still has his work cut out for him if he aims have a better career than Romo.

Oh I've never said Romo hasn't been surrounded by talent. I've been critical of Romo and I've been very vocal in the past on it maybe a bit overboard as well. But what's changed is going back and looking at the big picture and not the plays that have been put under a microscope and I think that's been the problem every mess up by romo is under a microscope and I think the problem has been coaching for Romo. I think JG has ruined his career personally. But as a talent and
Moxie. And the it factor Romo has it all and a guy I would start my franchise around any day of the week. He's a never say die kinda QB
