What happened to the good old days if you don't practice you don't play..I'm referring to getting some actual reps in preseason games. It's one thing to keep an E. Smith our or an A Peterson out but this makes two years for Claiborne...between Johnson and him its time to move on and move them out. Give me some unrestricted FA over those two.

Better than camp stupid, you don't get a chance during the reg season to sit players who are nicked up.

Claibrorne needs the reps...he missed some training campp and now it looks like he is going to miss all of this preseason.

I'm beginning to care less and less on whether or not Mo plays in any games....pre or regular season. If he continues down the same path without getting better, let him go when his contract is up. Sure hope they don't extend him at this point.

I would be surprised if we seen Mo, Melton or T. McClain at all. Slight possiblity for last game for 1 series or 2. But at this point doubtful, even if they say they are 100% ready.

I would like for him to get live game reps but not at the expense of entering the season injured. He is not a rookie. While he will not play he has been practicing the last 3 days according to Cowboys website.

I'm not judging players on how they preform in pre season I will however judge him by how he performs during the season when it counts.

It would have been nice to see McClain on the field, to see what he's got. We really need 2012 Melton to show up.

Yes if McClain can get some snaps, and at least looks solid, and if Melton can show he has recovered from his injury. They don't have to be great, but just look as if they regained, or soon will regain their form, and can play. It sure would make me feel better going into week 1.

This right here.

The guy just can't stay on the field and when he has been on the field it's been nothing special.

We need guys in here that is serious about playing football and getting work in.

How do you prove that you are better than the guys behind you if you aren't showing them during training camp OTHER than the coaches are just giving them position?

Xwalker posted a quote in another thread from Lovie Smith re: Da'Quan Bowers in another thread I found absolutely shocking compared what we hear from the Cowboys coaching staff and front-office:

"I think every day you don't practice you're hurting your chances," coach Lovie Smith said. "We've seen enough to like Da'Quan a lot. But all the reps that he's not getting, someone else is getting them. The best way to beat your competition sometimes is just to stay on the field. You can't get Wally Pipped.

coaches see these guys at practice bottom line it is stupid to play a guy with an injury in pre season, during the season teams do not have a choice often and have to play guys with nagging injuries that tend to linger over the course of the season. I agree every day you don't practice but he is practice he will not play in the game but AGAIN last 3 days at practice.

We are enabling Claiborne.

I believe Claiborne is doing his best to get onto the field. I don't hold it against him.

The problem is that when he finally does get into game situations, it doesn't take very long for him to incur an injury of some sort.

Listen, let's hope he puts this behind him, however, it's very much looking like Mo is one those guys who just who's body can't hold up to the NFL game.
