Funny thing is, Nicks caught 9 passes for 72 yards against the Cowboys on 12/21/14, while playing for Indy. One of his best games last year...

Lack of speed at the WR position is a concern for me. Nicks doesn't solve that. Pettis would. He would stretch the field big time. But I suspect the coaching staff would prefer Nicks because of his experience, assuming he has anything left.

Would rather have someone that can help take the top off the defense. With so many balls going to RBs out the backfield, it'd make sense to have a burner that can keep a defense honest.

Remember, Tony Romo has made guys like Crayton, Robinson, Bease, Hurd, Williams, etc all look like decent NFL talents. He's made a career of making average guys look great, as long as they have enough speed to get 'some' separation - Romo will handle the rest. They've been high on Street, but he's starting to become Ogletree 2.0.

Also, I'd expect us to run a lot of two TE sets now like New England did with Gronk & the murderer. This could be a big opportunity for Escobar to justify that 2nd round pick.

Exactly!

And dude... Your movie is coming out soon :)

This is what I'm hoping for, it would be a thrill to see Escobar break out

Hmmm. Let's hope Street can produce something.

Of those guys listed, Pettis fits the profile of a big WR with good athleticism. He's Boise State, which seems to be a plus around here these days. I didn't follow him closely with the Rams or Chargers. Anybody have a good idea why he was cut in the middle of his rookie deal?

I noticed the Iggles had a little trouble with the big Atlanta receivers,,, and outside of Dez our receivers are a little slight in build.

Those wanting Escobar more involved (instead of a WR that 32 teams don't want) have a legit point.
Not saying we shouldn't bring someone in--we should--but I think there's opportunity here to really give defenses a tough matchup issue.

Whoever we do bring in needs to be reliable. Romo has trust issues when it comes to his WRs....probably due to getting slaughtered for picks thrown when the route was totally off in previous years. In any case, if he doesn't trust you, you won't see the ball very much.

I hear/read the name and I think of Al Toon...former WR for the jets. Which makes sense I guess since he is Al's son.

Al toon was a great Receiver for the Jets until the Concussion's took its toll. Could've been a Hof'er

I wonder if the Steelers would take a 7th rounder and Hayden for Antonio Brown. Probably not.

You don't seem to understand the way things are? Hayden is a Marinelli boy and Marinelli is not going to let him go anywhere,
let alone be traded away. Hayden stays or Marinelli goes...That's the deal!!!

The thing that bothers me is these are all guys the Panthers passed on after they lost KB, and they didn't even have a legit #2 receiver.

What's the over/under for TO threads while Dez is out?
