Shady Brady vs. Indianapolis Andrew Lucks

Luck is terrific.

I love that they are so aggressive offensively and do not apologize for interceptions.

It's just vertical and aggressive.

This is how the offense with romo should have always been, instead they tried to make him aikman in Norv turners offense

As we watch N.Eng evolve into a old time power running team .........maybe just maybe Garrett will abandon his copy cat of N.eng 12 package.........and also "evolve"

Well he did see some of that late in the season. They signed a fullback and used him.

I really don't think we ever were copying there 12 package. I think the media is just lazy around here and just ran with that.

But if we were what does that say about Dallas? They are copying the offensive system of a guy who got fired as a head coach running his offense in Denver.

Why not just hire him Instead of copying it?

Can you elaborate on this a bit more? Thanks in advance.

From my recollection, I thought we took more chances downfield back in 2007 when we went 13-3. What do you think changed that? Or was it as simple as power consolidation by Garrett?

Good game. Heading into the 4th quarter and it's a one score game. It would be impressive if the Colts could pull this one out. A Broncos-Colts AFC Championship would be freakin huge. So many storylines for the media to play with.

Parcells was trying to implement a 12 package during his time in Dallas. No one envisioned using it as extensively as the Pats did with Gronk/Hernandez, but Parcells did want to have to useful tight ends. That has just continued since he has left.

Is it really copying though?

The 2 TE concept was first attempted in Dallas by Parcells with the drafting of Fasano. It never fully came to fruition. Then Fasano was moved and it was attempted again with Bennett. Then he left via FA.

I don't know what happened to change it honestly. We were ultra aggressive in 07 and 08 and the ball went Down The field all the time.

I just think Garrett got spooked by the interceptions which are just a part of playing aggressive and wanted to play it safe. Somewhere in there the offense changed.

We ran a ton of the 12 package starting in 03 under parcells and carthon. We signed cambell, drafted witten and had Robinson and Whalen. It was always a point of emphasis here.

I agree. That's why even if a team has a large lead on them they are still dangerous. And not even with great receivers.

You beat me to the punch. But yes, I agree.

There are lots of storylines with respect to Peyton this week no matter the outcomes of the games.

If he loses, it is another one and done. That would be a story.

If he wins and the Pats win, it is Peyton facing his nemesis.

If he wins and the Colts win, it is Peyton facing his replacement. A replacement who was able to beat his nemesis in New England, which Peyton wasn't able to do in the playoffs.

I was just curious to see what your theory was. I have no real idea. But I do know you keep your ears pretty low to the ground and always share tidbits that are not always common knowledge. Didn't know if that was the case here as well.

Its a shame, for whatever reason, we got away from it.

He wasn't trying, he did from day one. Drafted Witten, signed Dan Campbell and had Jeff Robinson and James Whalen. Then in 04 he drafted Sean Ryan, in 05 he signed Brett pierce and in 06 we drafted fasano.

It was essential to our offense. Two tight ends and an athletic fullback. We were better at it than New England during that time, they just ended up with two tight ends that were there big play guys and just used them.
