Shady McCoy could replace Demarco Murray next season?

There is talk in Philly that the Eagles will probably release Shady McCoy in the offseason because he's due to make 12 million next year. I'm sure he would love to play against the Eagles twice a year if they release him.

If Murray gets a monster deal somewhere maybe Jerry can sign Mccoy to replace him?

Apologies, but this is just stupid.

The realms this board extends to makes the sixties look like a health food experiment.

Man McCoy is not that great.

Right now he isn't very good. He is 2nd in rushing attempts and 15th in rushing yards averaging 2.9 ypc. I don't expect that to last. He will start producing, but he is off to a bad start this year.

Gurley, Gordon, Mike Davis, Ajayi, Yeldon, etc. I'm not worrying about our 2015 running back situation. It is one that can cheaply be fixed.

If the goal is to bring in a dirtbag cause he's talented but cheap, I'd rather take a stab at Greg Hardy for our pass rush as opposed to AP.

No thanks on Mccoy.
As others said, pay Murray before paying AP. Don't want any part of him either. More from age and contract he would want, not so much his legal issues. That remains to be seen.
I think McCoy will be one of those RB's that will fade very quick.
Yes, he has OL issues but still has done nothing this year. One would think he should get some yards on his own, for his quickness and speed alone.

Would rather look in the draft. Then let Randle, Williams and draft pick battle it out.

If they can't resign Murray, I wouldn't mind Todd Gurley in the draft if they're picking later 1st or trade down to top of 2nd...depending on how the draft shakes out of course. Still not sure a RB goes upper 1st round. Hopefully they can work out a reasonable deal with DM though. If they are looking at a max of say $4 mil a year...not sure McCoy or AP would accept...unless AP's legal troubles continue to mount or heavy backlash remains.

Other teams have attempted to make a commitment to the OL. The Titans are one...with OG Warmack, C Schwenke, OT Lewan, and then signing OG Levitre. The 9'ers when healthy have a pretty good OL with some 1st round picks...as do the Browns led Joe Thomas & Alex Mack.

The 2013 & 2014 drafts saw several OL go in the top 15...particularly 2013.

As some pundits have pointed out...the Cowboys not only invested 3 1st round picks in the last 4 seasons on the OL, but they hit on all of them.

he has one legal issue which will be settled in december. the likelihood of jail time is less than .00000001%. we can't mess this opportunity up.

Gotta love due process. We are already 99.999999% sure of a pending court ruling. Amazing. I just don't know man. Lots of tentacles with that AP issue.

Lol OP is seriously stretching here. I live in the Philly area and list to their sports talk every day...at no point has anyone said McCoy will probably be cut. It was brought up as a point of discussion on a slow middle of the week day and mostly because their fan base still hasn't gotten over the DJack fiasco in philly. The discussion was COULD Chip Kelly cut Shady like he did Jackson, it was never "Shady is probably going to be cut."

Sounds like something that happens around DFW too...LOL

Probably because he's playing behind one of the worst OL in football.

I think Shady is a talented runner, but I don't think he's necessarily the best back for this system, to be honest. I just don't think his style would mesh with it.

Randle will be able to handle some of the load. Dunbar will get a few. And Williams/UDFA/draftee can battle for the rest. I'd not give him a big contract. He's oft injured. If he stays healthy he'll test the market.

I'd take McCoy in Dallas in a heartbeat, but if I'm paying a RB what McCoy will cost, I'm paying Demarco Murray.

i haven't followed the case but i've heard that even if he is convicted, the likelihood of jail time is slim to none. he will be available next year and i'm confident he will come to uncle jerry and accept a significant pay cut.

Wouldn't he then be subject to at least a 6 game suspension by the league though?

it depends if he's convicted or not. if he's not convicted then I think him sitting out the entire 2014 season would be sufficient punishment for Goodell.

whether he is convicted or not, he's not facing jail time.

Shady should have been a Cowboy all along. That draft was an epic fail. I could easily see them parting ways after the season. I of course would love to keep Demarco if it could be done reasonably. That said this is an really strong rb class. Gurley and Gordon are as good as have come into the league in quite awhile

i don't think ap will be playing next year. if he is convicted and i think he will be although it could be on a lesser count, he will then have a suspension by the league. i don't think any rb is going to get a huge payday next year. teams seem to not be payinh those crazy prices for rb's anymore. i don't see anyone getting much more than 5 mil but we shall see
