Sham: Comments attributed to Bartel were incorrect

So that we can avoid more endless "if this is Brad" disclaimers, I can confirm his identity.

I will also state that anyone who harasses or annoys him publicly or privately will have their accounts banned permanently. Everyone would do well to remember that Brad is a guest here and will be treated as such.

This is Brad Sham and I want to set the record straight about my conversation with Richard Bartel. What's been reported here re: what I said on the pregame show has been taken way out of context. Bartel was joking about putting on the burgundy. It was ANOTHER player who talked to me about it being a zoo. Understand this: Richard Bartel has worked very hard to find a place in the NFL. He would not be stupid enough to say anything to jeopardize what he's done, and I would not lack the integrity to give up something truthful a player had told me in confidence. Are we clear? Richard has worked extremely hard to find a spot in the league, and he has accomplished things most of us never have nor could. He respects his profession, and obviously I have to do a better job of conveying what's been said to me in a joking manner. I'm sorry if anything I said contributed to anyone's confusion on this subject.

Thank you and welcome. I don't get to hear the radio calls because I work during almost every game, but I for sure get on NFL.com to hear your calls of the plays as soon as I can.

Appreciate your work to no small degree.

But On The Cool, I Like you Sham.....Can you tell me what the hell happened to newly scrubs...dude just dissappeared

Confusion on CZ?

Naaahhhhh........

Thought that seemed a bit over the top.

Glad to have you here Mr. Sham, please post more...believe it or not, this place is full of insight. You just have to wade through the trash to find it sometimes.

I am going to echo what Reality already said. That truly is Brad Sham. Thank you to everyone who treats him with the respect he deserves.

It took a lot of guts for him to come here and reveal who he is. He is a man of integrity.

Is Brad going to give us any inside info?

I would love to know if he was just joking w/Gurode when he said "if Gurode could block anyone ..." (during Rat's post game interview after Skins game).

Does this mean the 37 private messages I sent him over the past four minutes would be considered out of line?

Only kidding, of course. :D

And just since it can't be repeated enough: Brad, you rock. I get chills every time I hear a highlight of a play with your voice calling it. I went to a game a few weeks ago with some family and friends, and we were literally sitting there in our seat wishing your radio call could be broadcast live throughout the whole venue. You're an icon to us, good sir.

Hey, Mr. Sham... remember when you made that call in the Chiefs game when Miles Austin scored in overtime?

I cannot even believe the kind of integrity it takes to come here just to defend a player on another team.

We take our dislike of the Commanders seriously because they are a hated rival. The report thrilled some of us. Me in particular. But I want you to know it really didn't carry any weight that should adversely affect Richard Bartel. If anything it made us like him even more than we did when he wore our colors. That is beside the point as you have so eloquently stated.

On behalf of Cowboys fans everywhere, our apologies to Richard Bartel if he was put in any kind of compromising position. For it to get to him and you speaks to how carefully we need to think about what we say on these forums.

Thanks for the lesson in integrity. I hope we can all learn from it.

I know you won't read this, but due to the off chance you might, I just want to say I admire you and wish I were as witty as you are as a broadcaster.

We appreciate the info, Brad.

And most of all much thanks for your contributions to the Cowboys for over 30 years. You're the best.

I'm actually relieved to hear that the Bartel report was false. I always rooted for him to carve out a spot in the league and thought those comments really hurt his chances.

Thank you Brad for clearing that up and also thank you for enhancing our Cowboys experience on a weekly basis.
