Sham: Comments attributed to Bartel were incorrect

I am going to echo what Reality already said. That truly is Brad Sham. Thank you to everyone who treats him with the respect he deserves.

It took a lot of guts for him to come here and reveal who he is. He is a man of integrity.

Hmmm. Now if we really knew this was Hostile... I can't say it is, I can't say it isn't. So I don't know what to think.

Thank you, Mr. Sham, for setting the record straight. You have always been classy, and your post reaffirms that. It is humbling to see your show of integrity for a member of the hated Commanders.

Brad & Babe are the best in the biz next time I see Jerry (I never have actually seen Jerry but that is beside the point)to give you all a raise.

Brad you have always taken the high road and I can't tell you how much that is appreciated by this fan. I hope you are still doing this (Cowboy broadcasts) till I am long in the grave and I plan on living for a good while still.

Wow

Get on this morning and see a post by my current favorite play by play guy.

Thank you for the clarification Mr. Sham.

You're a Cowboys Legend Mr. Sham. Superlative Q Score around here.

I think it moved.

Bravo for coming here to straighten something out that might inadvertentently cause someone to lose their job. This is Dan Snyder's team we are talking about after all.

Your work is very good, and it always gets serious attention. I just wish I could figure out how to simulcast the radio calls to the Dallas game on TV..:D

Indeed, thanks for the lesson in integrity. Now, if we could only get a smiley around here...

I cannot even believe the kind of integrity it takes to come here just to defend a player on another team.

We take our dislike of the Commanders seriously because they are a hated rival. The report thrilled some of us. Me in particular. But I want you to know it really didn't carry any weight that should adversely affect Richard Bartel. If anything it made us like him even more than we did when he wore our colors. That is beside the point as you have so eloquently stated.

On behalf of Cowboys fans everywhere, our apologies to Richard Bartel if he was put in any kind of compromising position. For it to get to him and you speaks to how carefully we need to think about what we say on these forums.

Thanks for the lesson in integrity. I hope we can all learn from it.

So that we can avoid more endless "if this is Brad" disclaimers, I can confirm his identity.

I will also state that anyone who harasses or annoys him publicly or privately will have their accounts banned permanently. Everyone would do well to remember that Brad is a guest here and will be treated as such.

Wow, people on this board tend to treat guests pretty poorly. You should demand better. :laugh2:

This is Brad Sham and I want to set the record straight about my conversation with Richard Bartel. What's been reported here re: what I said on the pregame show has been taken way out of context. Bartel was joking about putting on the burgundy. It was ANOTHER player who talked to me about it being a zoo. Understand this: Richard Bartel has worked very hard to find a place in the NFL. He would not be stupid enough to say anything to jeopardize what he's done, and I would not lack the integrity to give up something truthful a player had told me in confidence. Are we clear? Richard has worked extremely hard to find a spot in the league, and he has accomplished things most of us never have nor could. He respects his profession, and obviously I have to do a better job of conveying what's been said to me in a joking manner. I'm sorry if anything I said contributed to anyone's confusion on this subject.

I love your work. I've never lived in Dallas, but I have a Sirius radio and sync it up with my TV so I can hear you guys call the game instead of those tools that never give the Cowboys any credit...one of which is our former QB that goes over the top with his anti-homerism.

Please keep up the great work.

Wow.

First let me say I am your biggest fan, I know you hear that alot, but I really am yours, babe'sand kristie scales biggest fan.

I feel terrible now, like I did something to put you or bartel in a bad spot. I really truly am sorry. It was never meant to cast you or richard in a bad light. I bascially just posted what you said assuming people would realize the humor in most of it, like the putting on the burgundy comment and understanding the frustration that comes with being on a losing team.

I pretty much post every meaningful thing yourself, brad and kristie say on the broadcast because I hold the 3 of you as the highest authority on the team and I respect and enjoy your work more than anyone else.

Again, I feel terrible. My heart has sunk to the floor reading your comments.

I would gladly apologize to you in person. I am a season ticket holder and I am at every game.

Sorry for causing you or richard bartel any hassle.

Sincerely,

Your broken hearted biggest fan
Todd

I agree with everyone here in that I am a huge fan. Best play-by-play guy in the league.

That is great that you would come on here and do this.

Please drop by and give us your thoughts more often.

Mr. Sham
Thanks for all of the great calls over the years. You are excellent at what you do. I listened to you on my car radio for many games back in the 80s and 90s when the game was not on TV. There were some unforgettable moments.

Behold the power of CowboysZone.

I truly believe Theebs' apology is sincere enough to perhaps evoke a response from the Great Brad Sham - who makes up 1 half of the finest Radio Broadcast Team in the NFL.

I feel really bad for Theebs.

Wow. This absolutely made my day.

Brad Sham coming to the Zone to post anything, especially something this classy, is a treat to me. I love listening to this guy call Cowboys football games.

I hope you return Mr. Sham. It would be our honor to have you around here when you've got the time. You're one of the best in the business. I love your work. Keep it up.
