A lot of coaches do that just to go through the process. He can opt to stay in Philly which is obviously a much better situation.
Is this what happened or is this just an assumption?

Because I get what other guys do. But when it comes to Dallas especially Kellen Moore he knows what this is. They know him. So to use tehm as a "through the process" type of move...doesn't make sense to me especially when no one is seriously gonna hire him as a Head Coach.

Moore refusing to do an interview would be a bad look for a guy claiming he wants to be a head coach. The next owner with interest may be reluctant to request an interview with him for fear he’d turn up his nose at his team, too.

Moore’s time is coming. I doubt it’s now, sans the Eagles winning the Super Bowl while his offense puts up significant yards rushing and passing.
Moore will never be hired as a head coach. Just look at the coaches around the league...there's no Kellen Moore unless you want to say McDaniels and he's considered a genius.

not liking this BUT the more i’m looking in to him as a coach he’s more of a leader coach than x/o guy. he’s worked all over this league so he’s got plenty of coaches in a pool to pull from. leagion of boom defensive coordinators. he could put together a really good coaching cabinet. unlike Moore that only knows people from cowboys chargers and eagles days.

he’s going to have to pick the best coordinators and position coaches to be successful

You mean the mighty Jason Witten will be his handpicked OC!

Well it was only a virtual interview, and most people will at least hear it out and see what is being offered and verify it.

I'm sure once Jerry mentioned Witten and the contract terms, etc Kellen noped out.
I doubt it. I think they used Kellen Moore not the other way around. Pure speculation on my part. They used it to say "coaching search" when in reality the plan is probably to hire someone in house like Shottenheimer.

First of all I'm not advocating we hire him . I'm saying, we need to run the ball better and more and play better defense and if he is going to bring that to the Cowboys, I would prefer that than to KM's pass crazy gimmicky offense.

And FYI, he has done this elsewhere. This is from @Brooksey

Coach Schott has 5 playoff wins and two AFC championship game appearances.
He led the #1 rushing attack with NY in 09-10 and (3) top ten offenses in Seattle 2018-2020.

Were those LaDanian Tomlinson and Beast Mode rushing attacks with the Jets and Seahawks respectively? If so, looks like if Jeanty is there at 12, he'll be the pick.

The Jets and Seahawks both had stout playmaking, dominant defenses. The Cowboys would need to spend money and draft picks to improve.that defense to mimick Schottenheimer teams in NY and Seattle.

What makes him a leader though? What has he done to warrant this reputation?

That sounds like an assumption. He's an OC playing in the championship game and already did a couple of interviews. You sit and listen and give your thoughts and then decide if it's something you'd be interested in. Jerry being the GM isn't exactly a luxury for a coach. And you can see he's clearly in a better situation where he should have plenty of opportunities to win a ring. That's gone as you sign with this team.

Could be, but if they were smart they would've went through to motions with Ben Johnson or some other 'hot' assistant rather than play subtlefuge with Kellen. Of course, we know they aren't smart.

yeah but don't you mean...Jerry will have to provide him with the best coordinators and position coaches?

I said exactly that the other day. They aren't taking this coaching search seriously. Things are much worse here than I thought. There's a balance of lunacy and arrogance that is troublesome.
