Your not willing to pay a top 10 level defensive lineman IF he produces??

We need defensive DIFFERENCE makers and they like to get paid... who do we have lee when he is actually healthy

He was a difference maker 3 years ago.

I've told people that Doug Marrone is a heckuva coach. Now he doesn't have to deal with a joke owner and a joke GM.

Some fans just want no risk situations I guess.

The Jags are on the hook for a 10MM cap hit next year and that's it. They can cut him with no cap pain after 2018 if he sucks.

So they traded a 6th round pick for a DT who they think is worth the risk in improving what is actually not a great run D. And their "pain" is roughly $15MM in cap hits for a season and a half.

And here in Dallas we will sit with our thumb up our collective butt and band aid the crud out of our the 1 tech spot this season and then go find Stephen Paea II in this offseason.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Obviously this guy's reputation precedes him amongst NFL circles and FO's.....otherwise he wouldn't have been had for a measly 6th round pick.

When evaluating how trades work in a salary cap NFL, you are not thinking it through if you look at a low draft choice as an indicator.

Teams are not going to give up high picks and assume a strong contract. But please, continue on about how the reputation resulted in a measly 6th round pick.

I would rather pay DLawrence that money after hearing from BUF coaches and fans

Sheldon Richardson is the same guy last year at the deadline and he done nothing for SEA this year for 8m

You can pay Lawrence next year and have Dareus on the books too. Or you could even restructure Dareus if you wanted to maybe push some money into 2019 to lower the 2018 cap hit.

The excuses are neverending from some.

But nah. Let's continue to band aid the hell out of that position and do crazy things like move Collins from the 3 Tech spot to the 1 Tech, where he's a worse fit.

Excuses for not signing another over-rated overpaid suspension waiting to happen.... that's cute

Dareus is only available because Cedric Thornton is outplaying him in BUF.......isn't it ironic

Excuses for the neverending cover some of you give the front office.

You know the Cowboys aren't going to devote large resources to a #1 DT... They've pretty much said that in the past.

I was surprised they paid Thornton what he did... The $17 mil over 4 years, but I believe that was in response to McClain in the last year of his contract and the Cowboys making the decision early not to resign him.

But with Dareus guaranteed over $7 mil for next season... And underperforming for the last 3 years... And having a history of knuckleheadedness and this close () to a 10 game suspension... It shouldn't have come to a shock to anyone that they did not make an attempt to trade for the guy.

Didn't know about Cedric Thornton. That's pretty funny.
