My god. That was worthy of a risk for us to take.

Oh well.

Wonder if they'd have any interest in trading former TCU star Jerry Hughes....

I'd inquire about Lorenzo Alexander as well... 34 years old but came out of nowhere last year with 12 1/2 sacks.

This post exemplifies what many fans of the Bills feel about Dareus...

"I've been critical of Dareus for what seems like a lifetime now...I always hoped for the best...But when he showed up fat at his first camp, and never even sniffed the 320 he was at the Combine again...He pretty much lost me a while ago...
It's ultra rare for anyone to waste this much potential because few have that much potential...But the kid never grew up...I think the fact that the best they could get for him was a 6th says it all about what he has become...I have watched him ever-so-closely these past two seasons, and outside of the few downs when he decides to bring it, he's pretty much been JAG..."

Another Bills fan's post:

"Maybe they could have got a 5th if......

Dareus wasnt a puff away from a long term suspension?

If Dareus hadnt drag raced?

If Daerus hadnt been arrested in Alabama?

If Dareus hadnt said he was going to rehab and then was spotted out in a club later that same night?

If Dareus wasnt late for a damned road game and was sent home?

If Dareus gave two ***** while he was on and off the field?

Nah...."

Can’t say I’ve watched a lot of buffalo bills football the last 3 years to know why the bills want him gone so bad.
Because he has attitude issues and a big cap hit... but if he is motivated he could be a top 10 Dline player. Worth a 6th round pick that's for sure

But he ain't worth the $10 mil in salary he's scheduled to make next season.

I bet these posters were called "realists" at Billszone.com.

#37 ain't anything to crow about.

His base salary next season is $10 mil.

No thanks.

I don't care about salary, Jags can find a way to rework it if they must. They gave up a 6th for someone ranked as above average on PFF, that's good. Salary means nothing, and Jags will be fine in that department.

And stop pretending this place wouldn't be calling for a championship if he came here. The guy would have improved our line immediately and his salary would have been reworked.

Jags got a good player for a 6th rounder to add to an already stacked team. Good for them. We'll be working with another Golden Cock.

But hey, let's crow about the #114 ranked Collins. At least he's not a cap hit though...

Hmm.

No.

His post contract signing play has left a lot to be desired for what he's being paid.

His base salary next season is $10 mil.

Not worth anywhere near that.

Yea it's high, however, once he is traded to us, we don't owe him any guaranteed money, right? Aka we can cut him without dead money?
The Cowboys could of reworked his deal, either right after trading for or at the end of the season to make the numbers work. OR if he sucked, just cut him.
We gave up a 6th for Bene nobody Beneweirekekekekeke. Sure, for peanuts on cap hit, but he has seen the field 4 times IIRC.

A mediocre player does not turn into a defensive mvp due to a contract.

He is healthy and playing alongside Maliek.

Anyways...Maliek is more productive than Dareus the last two years.

Carry on.

Lol wow guess Dlaw is the first player to go from a zero to a superstar when it’s contract time

But carry on whatever makes you feel good about our defense

$7.35 mil of his 2018 salary is guaranteed.

Your not willing to pay a top 10 level defensive lineman IF he produces??

We need defensive DIFFERENCE makers and they like to get paid... who do we have lee when he is actually healthy

Obviously this guy's reputation precedes him amongst NFL circles and FO's.....otherwise he wouldn't have been had for a measly 6th round pick.

Now, that's not to say he won't work out for the Jaguars. He could, but probably won't.

The real beauty is, all of the people on here rueing the fact that we didn't get him will never mention him again when he inevitably flames out. BUT, if he makes even one single impact play for the Jaguars, there'll probably be a thread about it and how we missed out cuz we are the most poorly run franchise in the history of franchises.
