Jerry loves fans like the OP.... It's also the reason why the rest of the NFL thinks Dallas has the worst fans. Every year is THE YEAR.

In case you forgot, Jerry is only interested in being relevant and interesting. Dominating the NFL isn't on his list of priorities.

Serious question. Since it’s hopeless in your opinion why not find a new team or new hobby?
Or-
In some way do you think you like the misery and won’t let it end because a big part of you loves to complain about the team and discourage other fans from enjoying the past time of following the Cowboys?

This is the first time since the 06 and 07 season that the Cowboys have entered a season with back to back playoff appearances, and unlike those teams this team is coming off a playoff win. The Cowboys appear to be building on something, so this will be a very telling season. If they don’t at least make the playoffs for a third consecutive year, which is something they haven’t done since the early 90s, then their championship window will probably slam shut. The Cowboys can’t afford to take a step back this season. With the tough schedule the Cowboys have it’s not going to be easy to continue to make progress, but if they’re going to get over the hump, they need to take another step forward.

What I like about this is regardless of what you're expectations are, there is enough there to support it.

However, one of the toughest things for some fans to do is get that last game out of their heads. And they are playing the picks of 22 forward.

Is it too much to simply allow fans to have their own opinions without telling them to find another team when their opinion doesn't align with yours? At least you didn't throw out an insult, which is usually the norm by some.

You want to wave the pom-poms non stop? Cool, you be you. I will never try to convince you or anyone else like you to change your mind. But don't pressure me, or anyone else like me, to be like you or call me/us any less of a fan when I/we don't think like you.

And that's what doing it for me. That's why I'm so negative. After that TB win, I actually thought we had a chance at least to get to a championship game. And then it was the same old Cowboys....

Anecdotal evidence? Cowboys over/under win total in Vegas is 9.5. Read public money was 96% on the over. How often does the house lose?

What is your opinion? That everything sucks? You know Jerry is here and isn’t leaving. His son will then takeover.

It was a simple question that seemed like a reasonable one to me. And you couldn’t really answer it so that says a lot.

You also whine that I’m not “just letting you be” a cryboy fan while you criticize another fan for doing what “Jerry wants”.

Are you able to recognize the lack of self awareness and hypocrisy in your complaint?
Or no?

C’mon man. Go read literally ANY of my other posts. I am hyper critical of Dak, the FO, playcalling, and many other things. I didn’t even say I thought they’d win the Super Bowl in the OP.

Just because someone wants to get hyped for football season one time at the beginning of each season doesn’t mean they’re a drooling ignorant fan. I’m on this forum because I love this team win or lose and want them to win. I hope they win because I’m a fan. As the season goes on I’ll praise what should be praised and criticize what should be criticized. If you can’t be excited about any element of this team, why even watch them? Dragging other fans for being positive one time says more about you than me. It’s football, which is part of the entertainment industry. If you can’t be entertained, this isn’t a good industry for you.

And by the way, there is statistical precedent to believe the Cowboys are better this year than they’ve ever been since the 90’s. This might be the deepest team we’ve seen since then, with the most premier talent. If you believe we will go winless or go to the Super Bowl, I don’t care either way. But what is the value in exerting energy to call out other fans for being excited about football season? It’s a game, man. Breathe and enjoy it.

I usually don't try to answer for other people, but in this case I'll take a stab: if they're like me, when I complain or get negative like this, it's out of frustration over 30 years of mediocrity.

The complaining should be seen as a call for change in order to make our favorite team a true contender. I think that's what gets missed by the eternal 'optimists': in order to fix what's broken, you have to acknowedge what's wrong. If you can't handle the honest, unflattering appraisal of the situation, you stand little chance of understanding what needs to change to correct it.

What change will be made? What is possible? What impact can a fan on the internet have? Is it a futile attempt or can you organize all the fans to follow you and, what?, make Jerry sell the team??

We are all frustrated, but we’ve been a good team the last couple of years. Maybe it’s time for some optimism? Some like the guy you’re defending only cry. And it gets tiresome.

I’m pretty sure by definition we are a true contender today. The odds will confirm that all year— I’d guess.

Definitely feel this team (if it stays healthy) has the potential to reach at least an NFC Championship Game. Looking forward to this 2023 season!

Sounds like some are not feeling well about this team. Maybe an upset stomach? Hope this helps...

There are 31 other teams looking for new fans...

While I'm reserving my opinion on the offense (with the Oline/RB position in question), I am absolutely ecstatic for the defense. I cannot wait to see them take the field. I think they could be special this season, and based off training camp so far, they seem to be super hungry this year playing with a chip on their shoulder. Micah has an energy about him this season and I think that will really help drive the rest of the unit. I know it's an offense-driven league, but defense still matters.

I think we make some noise in the playoffs. I don't know if we will reach the big game, but I certainly feel the best I have in years. We have a great roster and a really solid coaching staff.

The universe is a mysterious place and anything can happen. Maybe they do make the Super Bowl this year? You just never know. One of these years they'll surprise us. Hopefully it's this one.

I bet you hope he doesn't.....you'd be much happier to see him fail than to see him succeed.
I'm just gonna step in here...both pappy and mountain supported Dak when he started off very nicely...I think it was two years ago? They complimented him and cheered him on. Sorry I can't remember the exact time frame and pull up the posts.

So they HAVE had hope and support he succeeds. He just hasn't followed through as they see it. It's not that he played exquisitely through the losses. He's been part of the reason we lost.

Please note I *DID* say "part"...mkay..so don't start no shoot.

Dunno. I mean, in extreme cases it actually does work (see the once-and-possibly-future-Commanders).

I sure can't speak for other "negative-nellys" (which I am usually not; my posts are historically mixed), but if you ask me, I don't think it will take such extreme measures. In fact, I think this team (yes, this year) has what it takes to go all the way. Which means, maybe - just maybe - the right changes have indeed been made this year.

But even if they don't get past the divisional round this season, I'm still not sold that the only answer is to get rid of the owners.

But that's just my opinion, which, combined with $7, will get you a down payment on a latte at starbux... :)
