We are officially one week from watching a Cowboys game! I am more hyped about this year’s team than any team I can remember beyond 1995. Part of that is our roster, and part of that is the lack of NFC rosters around us.

If you had to bet today, how far you think this team goes (assuming no injuries)?

I’m saying MINIMUM NFC Championship!

NOTE: If you are currently responding with ‘we need to wait and see…’ or ‘You can’t assume no injuries….’, pop a cold one, let that hair down, get out of your own head, and burp up an answer!

It’s time for football! Go Cowboys!!
They have as good of a chance this year as anyone else. I'll leave it at that. I think it could be the year. But you never know until you do.

I'll go as far as to say that, barring injuries, this is the year of NO EXCUSES! On paper the Cowboys match up with any team in the league. But no I'm completely sold on the idea the Cowboys will overcome the "curse", which does start with the Joneses. But I give them credit for the best offseason they've had in years. Still I think every single Cowboys fan is waiting for the first major shoe to drop with that all familiar "I FREAKING KNEW IT!!!" inner voice to sound off. I realize now that it probably wouldn't have mattered what the Cowboys did this last offseason. The doubts just won't go away until the curse is broken. No Cowboys fan can truly kick back and just enjoy the season and be grateful for whatever success comes. The 5 Super Bowl trophies cast a shadow so large that no current Cowboys player can live up to the expectations of a legacy that grew stale and nauseating a very long time ago.

But there's always hope! This is as good of a year as any to break free of the curse, of the past, the Joneses be damned!!

Instead of one shot, I'm going with "three to the chest"...JFF

Divisional round loss to SF again as Dak completes a 60 yarder to
Brandin Cooks but the XP attempt is blocked and returned for a score
as time runs out. Dallas loses 18-16.

Or

NFC Championship loss to Detroit as Jared Goff puts on a clinic
but the real story will be an actual Lion gets loose on the field and mauls
Micah Parsons in the 1st quarter.

Or

Super Bowl loss to... the LA Chargers who average 41 points per game.
Justin Herbert named SB MVP to go along with NFL MVP. Kellen Moore
grows an Amish beard and finally stops getting carded. He retires from
coaching despite offers to be HC and joins ZZ Top as the new bass player.

(But the fan in me says a Dallas/Chiefs SB will be one for the ages.)

After all the years of disappointment, humor is a good way to keep your guard up.

Disclaimer: no players, coaches or animals were actually hurt in this post.
Go Cowboys!

If you're going to call out the Joneses like that, you also have to give them credit for assembling the team....

That’s el torro poo poo! First off we were at the ranch when Dak first came out so I’m not sure where you are getting that from

I’ve been here off and on since 06 maybe 05 but not here enough until the ranch shut down to definitely know but since being a regularly here papsmear and mountaineer has had 0 support for the QB

Papsmear was a Romo guy somewhat and mountain was pumping will Grier .

They are the 2 biggest trolls on the site hands down and they don’t believe he’s PART of the reason they believe he IS the reason for failure and they do nothing but push that narrative
Tell your boy to stop losing us games and we will shut up if that's the dream of dreams for you.
In the meantime..............

Don't see it this year.
Don't feel this team has the IT factor.
They can't figure out how to win in the post season.
Until they do, rinse and repeat.

Serious question. Since it’s hopeless in your opinion why not find a new team or new hobby?
Or-
In some way do you think you like the misery and won’t let it end because a big part of you loves to complain about the team and discourage other fans from enjoying the past time of following the Cowboys?
Well, the Dallas Cowboys is the most interesting organization in the NFL, maybe even in the entire sports world.

Actually I do give them credit on many things. For one thing I think the Joneses have more than a decent job in talent acquisition. And I do believe McCarthy and Quinn are the two best coaches they've hired since Jimmy Johnson. I also like what Stephen Jones has done as Cap Boy. But not a big fan of the media overexposure, the constant hype machine year after year and the constant promotion of "America's Team". I sometimes wish things were a little more blue collar, less Sunday night, Monday, Thursday games and the Cupcake mentality. Can't blame the Joneses for everything, but over the years they are a big part of it.

Now this is what I like to see and hear. We do not get enough of this on here.:bow::clap:
We don't? We get crap tons of it from draft day all the way into September and October. But it always disappears late December and early January, at least it has for the past 28 seasons.

Yes it is the year. But I believe they will have to trade for a stud Guard or Tackle at some point.

If I was on here that often I would have way more than 6,370 posts. Might even be in the top 5 in post counts.

By the way, my mom lives in Euless. I grew up there.
