Should Awuzie be fast tracked to start now?

Unless the DUI inhibits Carroll's availability, it should have no bearing on whether or not he starts or playing time. The competition should be based on football and not puritan morality.

Meanwhile Carroll got drunk the night in question at a party the team threw, the same team with Miller Lite -disgusting beer- plastered all over everything, and an owner regularly with a vat of scotch in his right hand.

We can guess where the team will stand.

Depth charts don't exist, at least they shouldn't, prior to TC.

Of course they do and should. You have to evaluate your roster.

Of course you don't tell the players this and have them compete. They should have your attitude. That does not mean decisionmakers ignore the potential for player development or reality when it runs contrary to your preconceptions. Of course the best man wins. It is possible to do that you know.

didn't read the rest of the thread just yet, but I would think that they should have had him starting regardless of anyone else....you don't get someone in the 2nd round and jettison 4 DB's if you don't expect an near-immediate return....love this kid, especially how intelligent he sounded in that NFLN piece they did on him....get 'er dun RM!

I don't think any Cowboy DB is being 'fast-tracked' or any veteran given a position. I believe there will be true competition at both safety and all three CB positions. It doesn't matter where one was drafted or how much experience one has. Come opening day, the best DBs are going to be on the field in my opinion.

My guess right now, barring injury, the starting CBs on opening day will be Awuzie, Brown, and Lewis.

Same deal with competition on the DL and with LBs.

No i think he needs to be brought along slowly. I'm not a huge Awuzie fan. I thought he was the third best player in Colorado's secondary and benefited from playing with Witherspoon and Tedric.

Could be a disaster if he has to start too soon.
