Should Dak run more?

First let me say that I think he should run safely more to say on that later
but when he's getting pressure or they're putting people in the Box I think if he takes off and runs, on purpose not just the the read option it could help get the offense going, and help on 3rd down converting third Downs.
Now on running safely there have been two occasions where he ran the ball well but was not safe.
one was last night when he ran right into the two guys and one of them actually flipped him over he didn't actually flip himself he could have got hurt .
the other was when he got his leg bent back behind him instead of trying to slide so I'm all for running more but he needs to slide or go out of bounds.
I believe it would help the offense especially early in the games.

It occurred to me that on several occasions where they ran the read-option against the Broncos, rather than handing it off to Zeke whom they were keying on, he should have kept it. Of course, that's easy for me to say from the comfort of my own couch, but from my limited view, he would have likely picked up more yards than Zeke, who was promptly stopped in his tracks.

He should have a sit down with RGIII first.................

Dak is a different athlete than RG 3... he's bigger and stronger and only runs when he has to.

I would get him 2-3 designed runs per game just to make teams have to defend the possibility.

Keep rolling him out and letting him throw on the run. It opens up the offense.

You can't play football scared of getting hurt-- and his TD run on Mon night rallied the troops. I say do whatever you can to put stress on a defense-- and Dak's legs are a weapon.

I think running in certain situation is fine but using his mobility while keeping his eyes down field will result in big plays. You watch Rodgers, he runs when he needs to but outside the pocket he is able to get away from pressure and kills you with the pass. Pretty much what Dak did to the Cards once he moved outside to get away from pressure.

Running is largely based on instinct and Dak is really masterful at picking his spots and getting down when he does run. A few designed option/run type plays are fine but I'm so proud of the fact that Dak has the game and mentality of a pass first pocket QB who happens to be mobile. Whatever he did to go top 3 in QBR, offensive rookie of the year, pro-bowl, 13-3 in his first season is working just fine.

You do that, and you've just put a target on his chest. IMO.

Just let him run when the opportunity presents itself.

Everyone knows he's capable. Why advertise it?

I would like to see him moved around more so he has a real option to run if he needs to. Plays where we're going to throw, and need three or less yards, should almost always see him in motion so he can run for the first if needed.

Teams needing to account for Dak running will help open things up on offense. I do not want him to be a "running QB", but I would like his ability to do so used more often.

He already has a target on his chest.

It's clear he plays better ball on the move-- let him play the game the way that he is most comfortable with.

He's a big dude. He's smart and can slide when he needs to. Let him run more when he's young-- and cut it back as he gets older.

He does not have a target on his chest as a pure runner would.

QB's that can't read a defense........that's another story. They run at every opportunity. Target. All you have to do is spy him.

Why take a chance with designed run plays when he already does that as needed?

Makes no sense.

I definitely don't want him becoming Cam Newton, but I do believe a couple deigned keeps will open things up and help the running game.

The td run got Dallas back in the game.
It also means def can't focus solely on
Zeke.
Think a few runs are needed each game.
He just needs to be safe, slide, and run out of bounds.
On the td run, that was not safe, he should have slid.
Wentz ran, not safely ,but it helped eagles win the game.

Also instead of the read option, I would
like to see him take off from the pocket,
if there is a opening.
That will affect the pass rush, and frustrate the def.

One thing I noticed in the Seahawks-Titans game was the Titans seemed to be good at designing "safe" run plays for Mariota, where the flow of the play leads him out of bounds behind a mass of his own blockers before any of the defenders can build up a head of steam for a kill shot on him.

Dak is too good of a passer for it to be worth making him a high volume rusher though. Cam Newton is even bigger and stronger than Dak, and he looks cooked at 28 years old because he leans on his own running too much and keeps eating linebacker kill shots.

More? Naaa, I don't think so....he's been pretty good about picking his times to run, and I definately don't want to see designed plays using him like that.... no need to risk injury.
