Should Darren Woodson be in the Cowboys Ring of honor?

Darren will be on the ROH. He's one of Jerry's boys, so the media doesn't really have to pitch him like they have the players that played before Jerry ran the team. (aka Drew Pearson)

This is true but I will say for the Cowboys that most of the guys in their ROH deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. But yea you're not getting into the Hall of Fame before the ROH. Tex might've done it but he was clearly an exception.

Other than Meredith and Don Perkins there's a strong case for the rest of the ROH members to be in the HOF. I mentioned in y previous post the reasons Tex got in the HOF before the ROH. Yes Tex clearly was an exception.

It's not a shoe-in that Woodson will get into the ROH but I do think he has a very good shot. The only reason I have some doubts is that it would have seemed very fitting for him to have gone in with Haley and Allen a couple of years ago seeing they were all part of the Cowboys great 90's teams. Drew Pearson should have had his own day being part of the Cowboys great 70's teams.

It just didn't make any sense having him go in with 2 members of the great 90's teams. Jerry put the triplets in at the same time which was very fitting but Drew should have been given his own day especially considering his induction was way overdue.

He should be.

That being said, I don't want to see 50 people on the Ring of Honor.

Again, not saying that Woodson is undeserving; just saying that I'm concerned about overcrowding that particular honor.

Simple question; Woodson started and finished his career in Dallas (not that it matters) Is the all time leader in tackles.

He set a Cowboys franchise record for tackles for a defensive back, with 155 in hid second season.
5× Pro Bowl selection (1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998)
3× All-Pro selection (1994, 1995, 1996)
3× Super Bowl champion (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX)

What do you think? In or Not?

I'd certainly sign a petition to do that

It should be a very selective honor and outside Woodson I don't see any former Cowboys getting in. The next players inducted after Woodson if he does get in will be from the current team with Witten and Ware being shoe-ins.

He deserves it more than Haley the merc.

Still upset with Haley getting in didn't like the guy. Liked what he did for the Cowboys but he spent more years in SF than he did in Dallas helping them win a couple of titles. He even finished his career in SF. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to the ROH and his induction tarnished it a little.

Huh? Either you are Troy's drunk ex-wife, or you're Martin Lawrence.

And absolutely not Novacek or Moose. You'd have to let 100 more in if you did that, and it should remain exclusive.

Emmitt acted like a ****** in the final years of his career. Troy punks out the organization all the time. Moose is still a fan in the box. He's got class. And Jay never did anything like Emmitt or Troy.

So, someone wanting the record is a ******, someone speaking the truth is punking out the team, and Moose, who us a blatant homer, has class.

Wow, is this Jerry Jones?

So basically you're pissed off that Troy does his job because *GASP* that's what he is paid to do.

That's beyond silly.

The Emmitt comment...eh. That's whatever as far as I'm concerned.

The answer to the OP question however is a resounding yes. Woodson should be in the Hall of Fame, IMO and most certainly in the ROH.

No, I'm not p'd off. I just think Aikman can be pathetic. He had a great career and I get the sense he feels threatened by Tony Romo.

Emmitt was a selfish jerk at the end of his career. He wanted to record worse than anything. And it hurt the team, IMO. Jerry is just as responsible, though.

In my view, he was the best safety to ever play the game--not named Ronnie Lott.

Moose isn't a homer. He just has pride in the team he once played for. I don't get the sense Aikman has liked a Cowboys team he didn't play for. And Emmitt--I won't argue with you. I stopped liking Emmitt a long time ago. It's not popular to do that amongst the fan base. But as far as I'm concerned, Emmitt can go dance with the stars.

Yeah I'm sure every time Troy looks at his 3 Superbowl rings or his Hall of Fame jacket he gets super worried and fearful of Tony Romo.

So Moose has pride in his old team. If he shades the truth about this team because of that pride he is a homer. Just like Irvin.

And I appreciate both of those men as Cowboys a great deal. Irvin is my favorite player. And I say that reluctantly since I am not a fanboy. or stopped being a fanboy years ago.

My bone of contention with Emmitt is he is a horse's butt. He will not sign an autograph for some kid and actually make the comment, you're dad will sell it later so I'm not doing it.

Emmitt, if it weren't for the fans, you may not have had a college degree. If you have one at all.

But having said that, Emmitt got the record because he had perseverance.

McCoy - I look like a real boob for forgetting Woody made the ROH.

But your comment on Troy and Romo bailed me out of being the biggest boob in this thread. No offense but that was absurdly ridiculous.

We'll agree to disagree, my friend. I just don't get the feeling he appreciates the fact he was a Cowboy like Moose, Woodson or Novacek. Granted, he was an outstanding player. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about how he disses the Cowboys and roots for the Commanders and what not.
