Lol. His dad was the head coach at Columbia for one season, and he went 0-10. There was no great family influence or connection. Jason merely decided he wanted to play for his dad, and when that didn’t work out he went back to Princeton. This political intrigue you are conjuring up is a figment of your imagination.
As for football helping him get into Princeton, maybe that’s true, maybe not. You are guessing he couldn’t have gotten in without football, but we don’t know that. Even so, even athletes at Princeton have to be top students, and given that Princeton has had football teams since the 1800’s it’s pretty silly to suggest a football player can’t be a typical Princeton grad.
In the end, he did the work and earned his degree. It’s nonsense to act as if it somehow means less for him to do that than for others.
