Should the 2007 Cowboys have been... Superbowl Champs!?

Complacency, and not getting up emotionally for the big game. We'd already beaten them twice, and I don't think that we got up for the game. The last few games of the season had no value for us, so we didn't show up for them either.

T.O. being slightly hobbled didn't help much either.

Nope, Giants beat us fair and square. They outplayed and outcoached us.

Make all the excuses we want about Crayton's drops and bad officiating.

Life isn't fair. We lost.

It sucks.

we made great strides last year but were not a world champ class team (neither were the Giants)

plain and simple: lack of self-confidence on both sides, players and coaches. the team struggeled when it counted the most.

players didn't show up because they were pushing too hard. coaches didn't adjust all year, especially on the offense side. no offense to our OC he was in his first year and will have time to learn.

Our secondary performed poorly. Crayton had a bad game. A bad call here and there at in the 2nd half. TO was not 100%. Our players still, didnt really quite seem to "get it" as far as the intensity and focus required for a the NFL playoffs. (The fact that we had mailed it in the last 2 games...didnt help) Combine all these factors, with the fact that that NY team was coming in hot, and was acutely aware of what was required of them to win playoff football, and they simply ended up on the right end of that one game. (keep in mind...Dal still had a very good shot at pulling that one out, despite all the aforementioned factors)

Is this thread a case of an Eaglet fan trying to open up old wounds?! That's sure what it seems like because I doubt you're really "intrigued" WHY Dallas didn't win it all!! Oh, and PT, let me be the first to give you one of these today: :trophy:

The Cowboys choked. They had more talent than the Giants...the Cowboys had a golden chance and choked on it. There are no good excuses.

We are not the Eagles, Commanders, Giants, Mavs, or Suns ...... we do not make excuses when we lose.

The Giants were better than us during the playoffs.

Period.

Very simply TO/Glenn were not at 100%. We got beat fair and square though, injuries are a part of the game. It really made a big difference imo.

I will make an excuse. The giants did not beat the cowboys, the cowboys beat the cowboys.

*ahem* take a look above you. We've got injuries to TO, a first year OC, if Crayton only caught the ball, bad calls and complacency.

This is intriguing ...

Taking into consideration that it was just time for the partiots to lose that one game, the Cowboys handed out spankings to the Giants twice!

Giants at Dallas on Sunday, 9/9 ...Dallas won 35-45

Dallas at Giants on Sunday, 11/11 ...Dallas won 20-31

What do you believe was the reason you didn't make the big show?

Git real.
We Cowboys fans know when it is time for a championship and last year was not it. (Must be tough for Eagulls fans who have never felt the rush from seeing their team win a Lombardi)

Wade, I still believe, was not a playoff-caliber coach last year.
This year I pray and hope that Jason Garrett will step up and be more involved and minimize Wade's influence.
Great team, weak HC.

I agree with complacency - team wise. I have another thought though. While Romo did not necesarily play poorly, he did not play great either. I'm not a Psychologist but something was wrong with Romo at the end of the year. He was not his typical upbeat, prankster, fun self. He seemed angry at the media and fans. Romo's kryptonite is doom and gloom. If Romo looks defeated, he is. He's got to learn to keep his chin up. When he's been able to reamain upbeat in the face of adversity, he's been spectacular. He's an interesting player. I can look into Romo's eyes and tell if we're going to win or lose the game. I can't say that about any other player. At the end of last year, he was angry about the attacks on him and Jessica. He stopped talking to the media all together when he's usually joking with them. I knew we were going to struggle.

Isn't it a little ironic that in the game of smash mouth, hard-nosed football, I only feel optimistic we're going to win the game when I see Romo's dimples???? I don't even feel right saying it.....

Typical PT ****.

Always trying to find ways to insult without being obvious.

I don't know why people still try to answer as if PT really was curious.

I simply will not take anything away from the Giants. They got hot at the right time and their Defense was just amazing. Eli quit turning the ball over in critical situations and they won games they should not have even been in.

No matter what I think about the 2007 Cowboys I will always remember that in the playoffs, they adjusted to us and took the game away. We could have won, but they acted like they wanted it more. I credit them for taking it.

The 2008 Cowboys are my favorite for it all and anything less would be a disappointment to me. I will accept no excuses this year.
