Good response ...got a chuckle out of it! Coincidentally, one of my all-time
favorite reminders is ...the EAGLES have won 3 NFL Championships!;)

I'll bet you an Eagulls Philly Steak and a VHS tape of "Rocky" that our R. L. Turner High School Lions could whip any of your wimpy Eagulls teams from the middle of the last century.

Honestly, to put up those "NFL" champions to the COWBOYS 5 LOMBARDI trophies is like comparing the 1840s-era Marines to our modern-day Marines. Different era, different level, different everything.

Don't bring up those "championships" again. It only makes your team look even more pathetic than it really is.

and there's more then 1 league :lmao2:
Tell me about it.
Living in South Jersey, I've obviously had this arguement a few times.

I even have a hard time considering the 1960 team a legit champ. The sport had come light years from the late 40's. By 1960 profootball was a legit professional sport league.
It just that their was still more than one!

This is intriguing ...

Taking into consideration that it was just time for the partiots to lose that one game, the Cowboys handed out spankings to the Giants twice!

Giants at Dallas on Sunday, 9/9 ...Dallas won 35-45

Dallas at Giants on Sunday, 11/11 ...Dallas won 20-31

What do you believe was the reason you didn't make the big show?

Thanks for answering ...and I was dead serious about the question. Now that it is the off season, I have time to go back over certain teams (especially the Eagles) and try to figure out what went wrong, how it went wrong, and what would it take to correct those areas/things.

The Eagles had a very bad 2007 regular season; but it could have been worse. However, I seriously believed that the Cowboys were on their way and had the capability to defeat the Patriots.

Here's a follow-up question ...

Without taking the draft into consideration, do you believe that the current acquisitions/trade interests will solidify those areas of deficiencies needed to resolve those areas you need to move forward into the 2008 post-season?

In honor of Phoenix-Talon, Hall & Oates have remixed their classic hit, She's A Maniac. Here's an excerpted verse from their new song: He's A Maniac:

As others have said, "complacency". That lead to the real reasons we lost: penalties and dropped passes. We outgained N.Y. by over 100 yards and held them to a net of 56 yards in the second half. Our poor kick coverage teams didn't help matters either. We are the more talented team, I don't care what anyone says. I just see that as a fact. We simply didn't execute when it mattered most.

I think that if all teams were playing on all cylinders, the Cowboys would have made it to the Super Bowl and lost to NE...maybe 27-24

Besides, with a young team, including a young franchise QB, our window of opportunity is just beginning to open. Last year was just the first leg.

Of course we all know that the Eagles window is just about slammed shut, so instead of being intrigued by why a team you hate didn't win as much as their talent said they should... maybe you should be intrigued by why the Eagles couldn't get over the hump when the entire NFC besides Philly was in a down period. It was there to be had and there was almost no competition in the whole NFC... yet it passed them by without winning much of any consequense.

We were not the best team in the NFL last year so no - we should not have been the Super Bowl champions.

On the other hand, we have a better team than the Super Bowl winner.

The best team in the league lost the Super Bowl IMO.

Carry on.

I don't believe we could've beat the Patriots in the SB this year. Even though we match up well against the Giants, the Giants match up better against the Patriots. JMHO

Your are so obvious.

I am an Eagles fans... let me go to a Cowboys board and ask them why they didnt get to and win the SB. I really, genuinely want to know what their fans think?

Wow.

Nope, Giants beat us fair and square. They outplayed and outcoached us.

Make all the excuses we want about Crayton's drops and bad officiating.

Life isn't fair. We lost.

It sucks.

I agree....and yes, it sucks!

The Commander and Eagles trolls think they can bother us.

All it takes is one look at our trophy case to make us smile.

Eagles is empty

Skins is filled with asterisks

Good to be a Cowboy fan. ;)

I will give the Birds full credit for the 1960 win. They gave Lombardi the ONLY playoff loss of his entire career. They beat the team that by the next year was one of the greatest of all time. THAT one was a truly legitimate Championship.

Why did we lost to the Giants after beating them twice? There is no single simple answer: a whole lot of things. Complacency, definitely. Bad play by Reeves, Crayton and others. Romo missing TO when it mattered.
The saddest thing of all was despite the Giants D Line owning the Boys O line most of the second half was that we still had a shot right to the end but could not make a catch when it counted. In the 4th Qtr, the Giants were on fire and we were not. Notice that several of the Giants since then said that our game was really the toughest one they had the whole playoffs.

Simple, poor arse secondary play. Jock-strap Reeves gave up 7 in 45 sec after we had a 20 play drive and right then I knew we were in trouble.

Thankfully our biggest weakness last year now plays in Houston.

Addition by subtraction;)
