For some reason I think it would be the right move.

1. It bridges the 1 year gap to see what Gregory can contribute.

2. Doesn't force our hand to reach for a DE in the draft.

Allows us to select the BPA...which will probably be a CB.

Comments?

I wouldn't mind at the right price. But I really hope we open the wallet for someone like JPP. He's only 28.

Yes yes, and then yes. He will be a rotational player and a mentor.

That's my thinking. And I wouldn't be opposed to see us take a developmental DE like a Derek Rivers later in the draft.

He's breaking down repeatedly already.

And that's with less wear and tear playing in a 3-4 defense.

He started to get injured playing in this 4-3 several years ago. The odds of it happening again are even higher now.

And he's accustomed to making big money. He'll either demand a large salary to put himself through the grind again, or he'll outright retire.

And this team already has way too many linemen with bad backs as it is.

El Paso.

I'd love to have him back here, but I'm not sure how effective he would be on this D with little help around him.

No interest. Old. Broken down.

I would bet as a part time situational rusher....He still has some gas in the tank. Probably gives you 7-9 sacks for the year.

Look @ Freeney...and he's almost 3 years older.

He's on record of saying he wants to return to Denver. Has already met with the new HQ and accepted his role as a rotational player with Miller and Ray starting on the edges. We have enough rotational players and Floaty...he didn't play for Boise!! Shame shame!! ;)
