Should the Cowboys bring back unrestriced FA Demarcus Ware?

I would bet as a part time situational rusher....He still has some gas in the tank. Probably gives you 7-9 sacks for the year.

Look @ Freeney...and he's almost 3 years older.

How many injuries, surgeries, and games missed has Freeney had over the past few seasons?

And how much did Freeney cost vs Ware?

The inconvenient truths of the equation.

I think if Ware came cheap and your role was 20 snaps a game or so, he could be very effective as a pass rushing specialist. I don't think he'll be that cheap and it wouldn't really be the style of this organization in recent years.

I've actually been following ware's surgery situation because I figured this would come up.
Ware supposedly feels"better than ever" after his surgery. (Hey don't they all)

People were screaming bloody murder for Dwight Freeny last offseason so ........

Just know what you are getting 8-10 games of rotational play with 5-7 sacks sounds about right.
It would have to be a vet min incentive laden deal and he would have to want to leave Denver. He says he doesn't want to leave. Probably not in the cards

It's been 3 years since he was here and his age has caught up with him. He still had plenty of gas left after the 2013 season and we should have found a way to hang onto him so he could have helped our last two playoff teams that could have used his pass rush. He'll be 35 in July and is coming off a couple of surgeries and only played in 10 games this season. I'm no longer interested in him.

If he signs for 1.5m.......Yes he would be perfect

He is a rotational WDE that can get to the QB

He is a class act that will work hard and tutor the youngings

Still draft a WDE early

We always need to get younger. As Parcells used to say, this is a young man's league.

I'd rather keep improving incrementally than acting as if there is some mythical window that we need to go all-in for and ruin future years.

He posted 15 tackles and 4 sacks last year and will be 35 when week 1 kicks off next season. If he "would start" for us we're in trouble.

He only rushed the passer 213 times. David Irving had 4.5 sacks on 394 pass rushes. Collins got 5 on 460 pass rushes. Lawrence got 1 on 284.

People said the same thing about Terrence Newman last year--and he should have made the pro-bowl this year.

That's fine, I'll take my chances on the two under-25 year olds moving forward. Not going to build a team off reminiscing

At his best nobody was afraid of Demarcus. He had the talent and the speed. But this Cowboy club needs toughness more than anything.

Wut.

Demarcus was one of the most feared pass rushers of his time and he was absolutely tough as nails. He plays smash mouth against the run. Toughness isn't a matter of trash talk and face paint.
