Now clearly Mike Jenkins has been nothing short of awful this year. Missed assignments, poor coverage, poor tackling, poor effort, penalties you name it he's just had a bad season. While he wasn't as bad this year in his rookie year he still didn't play that well. Their was a play during the Green Bay game in which Jenkins essentially quit and let a Packers reciever score. Some called for him to be released then. It's not a matter of talent I think he is talented it's just about putting that work in and becoming a better football player. He had a great year last year and made the probowl. He wasn't great as far as locking his reciever down but he wasn't terrible either, he made big plays for us as far as interceptions last year Jenkins had 5 on the season. This year he only has 1 interception. He's a big reason the Cowboys secondary has been just awful argurably the worst in the league. The question becomes do you cut Jenkins or hope he has a bounceback year in 2011-2012 if there is football next year?

I don't think we should cut him..Just yet, but we should draft his replacement in the event he doesn't show improvement next season. And to put some fire under his "arse"...

You posted a topic on a public forum. As long as we follow the guidelines here, we can respond in any mannar we see fit. If you don't like it, YOU don't have to reopen it to view the responses. Since it seems so many are mocking even the thought of cutting Jenkins, maybe you should take a few minutes to think about why so many are against it, instead of crying about how we're all so mean.

Guys.. i see what's going on here. The OP, knowing how many negative threads there have been lately that have been dividing the CZ family, very couragously and unselfishly sacrificed himself for the good of the board. He decided to make a topic we all could agree to hate, and took all the flack to unite the board together for Christmas.

Because it's incredibly stupid to cut a 1st round cb based on a bad year. It isn't like he's a cancer or trouble maker. Last y ear Collinsworth was raving about Jenkins skills on MNF and how he had surpassed Newman etc. etc..
Only a fool would cut him. He would be signed before his car left the parking lot.

The reason you get responses like you are is because it is tiring to see dumb threads like these and embarrassing when you consider others visit these forums and laugh at them because of the "cut Romo naow!!" and "blow up the team and implode the stadium I'M FURIOUS" crap that is posted.

Are you serious? Give up on a good, young, corner after his 3rd year in the league cause he had a bad one?

Last year he was easily the best corner on the team and I believe he can return to that form with some better play at safety and better planning by a better DC.

But, yeah, lets just quickly give up on the guy based on this one season.
