Should the Cowboys think about a new deal for LVE?

Clarke may have the physical abilities, but he hasn't shown to have the mental acuity LVE has.
I really like those two being on the field together. I'm not sure it's LVE vs Clarke. I have to assume Barr isnt around in 2024, and both Clarke and LVE should be able to play the weakside.

I think it was mostly the same few people, just that they were very vocal and obnoxious in their verbalizing.
Haha fair point. I know the one guy who kept coming up with his cute nicknames for LVE made about 10 different posts on the subject within just a week or two.

Yep. Starstruck22 . He was like a dog with a bone, and just wouldn't let go of his bias, no matter how many people explained why he was wrong.

I agree but he also had 0 camp, he came in late in the season next off season he will be part of the OTA and full off season. I would love to keep LVE but hard truth you can't keep everyone. If they can strike a deal great but cost matters when you have key FA who will be coming up

Clark is depth for the moment, LVE has made that clear.
Could Q find a way to incorporate both in some packages is the question.
We have to ask ourselves who comes out if Clark comes in and does that make for a stronger installed unit.

Let's see if he can tackle CMac and Deebo first? I hope he's not covering Kittle??

He's pretty good but is he good enough at the playoff level to make the plays?

I think there is a role but as a committee only. 17 game seasons are changing the need for more depth at alot of positions

At this point you can feel his presence missed when he isn't playing. With others on this team our play can be up and down. With all that said, I'd hate to see him go to another team. He's actually a first rounder that's been good for us!

Please give your thoughts....
I think they absolutely should try and make a deal with LVE, but that is assuming he is reasonable in what he asks for. He's not a guy you break the bank for, but he's had a good year, and only seemed to get better toward the end of the year in the games where he was healthy.

Shulltz'kowski had a good game Rogers.

It's about time a Dallas Cowboy te make a contribution to scoring at the playoff level. Lol

Schultz already has more playoff tds than #82 lol

There was no Brady to Gronk against Tb.

But this week Schultzkowski goes up against Kittle

And Kittle has been on fire

Who do ya think is gonna win the "Battle of Te's" this week??

We'll get to see them both duel it out in SF

I'm banking that the te that plays their best and scores the most tds this week is gonna win this game.

He's likely on 1 year deals because of the neck.
Have to agree with this. He can be done at any moment. Most teams will see the same thing. I wouldn't fault LVE for taking the highest bid to take care of his family.

He can have a 3 year deal but all salary and no bonuses so basically three 1 yr deals.

Absolutely the Cowboys should think about a new deal for LVE. But it has to be a cap friendly deal that allows us room for other guys that are due like Pollard. If I let anyone walk it’s Shultz only because I have a lot of faith in Ferguson and Hendershot.

Clarke is a rookie .... LVE is not ... (5 years)..
While true, LVE showed from the start that he could sniff out plays. This far, Clarke seems to have to make it up with speed. Experience may change that, I'm not saying he's a bust or anything, just that we don't know how good he can be.

Schultzkowalski?

But yes, I noticed Schultz had a nice game.

This was only Schultz second playoff game as the starting TE. He's performed very well in both of them.

I don't see this week as a battle of the TE's, or as Kittle vs Schultz. It's SF vs Dallas, and games play out differently. With both teams the TE could play a large role, or the RB's and WR's could diminish the role of the TE's. Both teams have enough other quality players (McCaffrey/Samuel/Aiyuk for SF & Pollard/Lamb/Zeke for Dallas) so that they can win games either way. Of course, both teams also expect their TE's to contribute as blockers.

Obviously on an individual basis Kittle is more likely to have a big day - he's one of the truly elite TE's as when he's healthy. But Schultz is certainly capable, and as a unit our TE's were pretty close to the SF TE's over the season, so I don't know if the SF advantage at TE is great as some might think.

As for Kittle being "on fire", over SF's last 3 games he's only had a total of 89 yards, although he has had 3 TD's, but over the Cowboys last 3 games Schultz has had 184 yards and 4 TD's, so recently Schultz has been the hot player. To be clear, I'm not saying Schultz is better than Kittle, just that if talking about who has been hotter recently that would be Schultz.

You see how much better he is, when protected up front. It's all about his price tag, but they also have to factor in his lack of durability. He has been more durable, but that neck could go remain an issue.
