He has only started one full year..How many great quarterbacks win a playoff game in their first year as a starter..Not many. I don't get this no playoff game issue with Romo. It's a joke really.

How many first year starters go 13-3 with 36 touchdowns on the season? I guess regular season is different than the playoffs indeed. I see the majority of Cowboy fans will defend Romo at all costs but some of us know that a certain Cowboy "star" hasn't pulled his weight in playoff games thus far. Like i said, if Julius Jones can crank out a 100 yard effort with the determination i saw from his runs in that game in Seattle, surely boy wonder can show me sometihng more than screams at his offensive line and relying on Anthony Fasano and Patrick Crayton to bail him out of situations. But i know, the Giants doubled Witten and TO on both plays right? lol Whatever guys

The D that gave Romo the ball back 3 times in the 4th quarter to do his "regular season" thing? Gotcha. Giants wiped the smile off Romos face like Antonio Pierce wanted. Where is Aikman's focus when u need it.

Actually.... he made the Game Winning pass on the 2nd to last play of the game to win it. Crayton stole the win from the Cowboys.

They say it because that is all they can hang their hats on. Fact is Romo has only one full year as a starter behind him. Anybody who uses that lame argument is just flat out jealous because they know we have a stud Quarterback...

Right there is probably why so many people remind us that he can't win a playoff game after just one and a half seasons. Because so many people are calling him the next best thing since sliced Favre even though he can't win that playoff game.

It goes both ways. How can we label him as the next wonder kid but they can not get on him for failing to be able to lift the team past that point or two? When he gets tired of it, then he will stop celebrity hoping on Thanksgiving and focus more. Until he takes that step, he is a QB that can't win when it counts.

I love Romo but in the words of Parcells, "you are what your record is." Romo's record is 0-2 in the playoffs. Dallas is 0-11 for seasons with a playoff victory. He is what he is.

Tony didn't rely on Crayton all year for "the game winner" so why do it in "THE GAME"? But again, we all know Witten and TO had 50 people draped all over them. I guess i come from the school of thought that you rely on your best in tough situations. Not arguably the worst skill position player on the field at the time.

Very few. A very astute observation, although phrased as a question....I wonder why?

I guess regular season is different than the playoffs indeed.

Yet another. You're on a roll!

No one is "defending him at all costs". Lmao...what a drama queen. His poor play has been discussed ad nauseam on this forum.

Like i said, if Julius Jones can crank out a 100 yard effort with the determination i saw from his runs in that game in Seattle, surely boy wonder can show me sometihng more than screams at his offensive line and relying on Anthony Fasano and Patrick Crayton to bail him out of situations.

Romo had a 89.9 passer rating in the game you're referring to...hardly helping your "something more than just screams at the offensive line" theory.

Lmao..."Relying on Anothony Fasano and Patrick Crayton to bail him out of situations"? That might be the funniest thing I've ever read.

Whatever guy.

Exactly.

He has been playing for a season and a half! Is that really hard to understand?

Come talk to me once he has been playing four or five years and has yet to win a playoff game...then you have something.

Also, since when is winning a single playoff game a barometer for anything?

If Dallas had beaten NY but lost to GB the following week, I would not be any happier.

It's a ring or bust for all I care.

When Romo's career is over the only thing that is going to matter is if he has a ring or not. That is it.

Show me the QB who is considered great because of playoff wins and not Super Bowl wins or great regular season stats?

Cool Trent Dilfer is a HOFer then.

Well Romo and the team in general are under the gun to win in the post-season and until that happens the doubters will continue to talk. Just the way it is.

Personally, I can't wait for Eli Manning to get tossed back under the bus by the media. :laugh2:

I like the guy as a Sports Jockey but he hates the Cowboys.. Calling Romo gutless last year at the playoff loss. I can't wait till he wins his first playoff game this year. I guess these same people don't know football is a team sport and Romo can't do it all himself. He needs people to catch the passes. Yeah, I am looking right at you Crayton!!!!

There's a big difference between stating categorically that he cannot win a playoff game (who's saying this, btw?) and noting that he hasn't won one yet. I'd liken him to Danny White, but Danny has several playoff W's on his resume. In any event, Tony has many years left to avoid Danny's fate.

Like any girl would talk to me. Don't worry: vintage bb will be back in September, or at the first hint of crisis.

Your right. I should have corrected my title. But I do hear all the time from fans that we suck because Romo hasn't won a playoff game. I liken it to our busting of McNabb I guess. We all know Mcnabb is good but we bust the eagles chops because they haven't won a superbowl. I guess it's the same thing.

Thanos68,

Net Etiquette: Reply under the quote, not above it. :)

While it doesn't really matter when you get down to it, it's easier to read as you get to scan the quote on the way down so you know what is being replied to.

I disagree. Peyton Manning was considered a legit QB, with only the "winning the big one" monkey on his back. He didn't reach the playoffs until his 3rd season. Then lost 3 playoff games in a row before winning his first. Losing those 3 by a total of 50 points.

Elway lost his first 2 playoff games by a margin of 31 points

The reigning SB Champion lost his first 2 playoff games by 26 points.

Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, & Steve Young all lost their first playoff games.

Romo has made it to 2 playoff games in less than 2 seasons. Losses totalling 4 points.

I'm having a real hard time correlating playoff success early in a career to the legitimacy of a QB.
