Speaking of Romo, he is supposed to play in a golf tournament Friday, the 27th, in Janesville ,WI.

He will be teaming up with his father and I'll just happen to be in Janesville at that very course.

I hope to catch a glimpse of him, maybe get an autograph if I'm lucky.

To the OP: he is 0-2, yeah its stupid for people to say he can't win but can't really argue to much with him until he (more accurately the team) wins.

Arguements to stop using every new hour... :

  1. The "Trent Dilfer" arguement. He is what he is, a super bowl winning QB with mediocore numbers. I don't think anyone is argueing that Marino should not be in the Hall of Fame. Nor are they fighting for Dilfer to be welcomed. Winning a Super Bowl does not make you great.
  2. The "less than two seasons" arguement. Romo is playing great ball. He is not suffering from being a starter for any short period. He had a chance to learn from the sideline which has obviously helped. He is lighting it up so there is no reason for him not to light it up in the post season when it counts.
  3. "His team let him down." Come on!! Seriously? He can't be special in every game but he has yet to be special in a playoff game.
  4. "So and so QB didn't win until their 3rd year." So and so QB was drafted high because they went on a team that sucked! Romo started with a pretty damn good team.
I am not saying that Romo is worse than Eli. But I am not saying that Eli is worse than Romo, though. Romo has kicked Eli's butt up and down the regular season street. Eli has been better in the playoffs. If you want to look at stats, look at stats. As far as putting my money where my mouth is, I would bet that the Cowboys do not win a playoff game and I would continue to bet that every single year until they do. People can say that one year doesn't carry over to another year but I would have a ton of money right now after their 12 year playoff drought.

Peyton put up greater numbers than Brady each and every year yet Brady kept putting a new ring on his finger. After the first ring, he was just lucky. The second ring and he was just a QB that fit into the scheme. Now I think it hard to believe that too many people would not grade Brady as the best QB in the league.

Being real is not hating. I wouldn't trade Romo for Eli. I love the electricity. But it is foolish to hate on Eli or think that there is not an arguement to be had. Romo needs to finish to be taken seriously. He doesn't need to win the whole thing, but he has to finish what his amazing season stats start. He has to put some playoffs under his belt.

I agree. I have no doubts that Romo and this team can win in the post-season but it is hard to argue with the critics when up to this point the team has not won.

I think that would be an easy bet considering the Cowboys have not had a legit QB for 10 out of those 12 years. That is kind of stupid to say. Go ahead and make that bet this year. It would be a foolish one.

I can understand why you don't like the arguments above because for the most part they blow away your little theory about Romo.

I love Romo but in the words of Parcells, "you are what your record is." Romo's record is 0-2 in the playoffs. Dallas is 0-11 for seasons with a playoff victory. He is what he is.

To use Parcells quote of "you are what your record is" is really being taken out of context if you are using it to frame two playoff games.

So 0-2 in the playoffs defines Romo.

I concede the fact that if he retires in 10 years and has yet to have playoff success while playing on fairly talented teams, you will be onto something.

But 0-2 in the playoffs start his career hardly equals "you are what your record is" that is just silly.

Again, Trent Dilfer 1-0 in Super Bowls and Dan Marino is 0-1. "You are what your record is" sounds pretty silly when applied the way you are applying it.

Re-read the thread title "Sick of hearing these dopes say Romo can't win a playoff game".

It is beyond crazy to convict Romo of "not being able to win a playoff game" when the sample size is two games.
