These are hollow comparisons to be making pre-season. We won't know what to compare this team to until we see what they actually are. The assumption about the defense is way premature. I'm willing to wait and see how this team's maturation through training camp progresses before making any comparisons to previous teams. I'm certainly willing to give this draft class the benefit of a doubt.

Hmmmm....honestly I don't see it other then in a few spots.

I think our O-Line is comparable for sure. Witten is definitely Jay. And Elliott appears to be the real deal at RB so he could be this groups Emmitt Smith but I'm going to need to see a few more years of seriously high level play before I make that comparison.

At QB...sorry I love Dak and what he brings but he's no where near Troy Aikman levels at this point. Will he ever be? Time will tell I suppose but I'm not even close to ready to put him even near that level.

Dez...please. I love the guy. Great player. Lots of passion. But he's no Michael Irvin. He's not even close at this point, from the all around stand point. He's athletically and physically more gifted but I don't know that I believe that he works as hard at it, or loves it as much, as Michael. And I truly don't believe that Dez hates to lose anywhere close to as much as Michael hated to lose.

On defense...not even close. This defense is no where near as good as the 90's Cowboys at any level. Haley alone was worth way more then the entire roster of D-linemen this years team has.

Linebackers....I'm sorry but only Sean Lee is even good enough to be mentioned with the guys who helped win Superbowls in the 90's.

I don't think the secondary is even close. There is no safety as good as Woodson, or hell even Washington for those team. There is no corner as good as Kevin Smith (Pre-injury) and absolutely no one who should even be mentioned in the same book as Deion.
I said similar. not exact.

that team didn't have to deal with salary cap and when it did, it lost a lot of players and depth.

this team at this point is more like the 91 team...can they get over the hump? can they find the pass rush? it all still remaining to be seen. but in the age of salary cap, limited draft trades, there is similarities.

again, remains to be seen, but similarities are there
