This is probably truer than anything folks could say about there being a wine and cheese crowd there.

Every game I've gone to, I see die hard fans excited to be at the game. It's not exactly dominated by the corporate types that people claim have taken over.

I have no doubt some die hard fans are at the game but there are a lot of people who really do not keep up with the game they are busy doing everything except watching the game. I kept thinking to myself given the ticket prices we are all paying I would think some would sit down and actually watch the game. Each to their own it is their money and if they want mess around so be it. It would be nice to get some more die hard fans to the game instead of the whine and cheese crowd.

Our fans are like 50 years old thats why they don't make noise in the stadium.

I'm a bit over 50 and have never left the stadium with my voice intact, normally it takes a good 2 to 3 days before I full regain my voice which is why I take vacation after thanksgiving since I know I will not be able to speak well.

I think Dallas crowds in the new stadium has been really loud, can't fault them for not being amped up for the sorry Raiders... :laugh2:

I was at the Atlanta game. The game had its loud moments but overall I was kind of disappointed. For as big of a game it was at the time, the team really had to help get the crowd going. I was way up in the 400s so the cheaper seats and a lot of people were not really football savvy.

And another thing, if someone is a season ticket holder and fills out a questionnaire. Tell them to get some damn budlight in the place. I understand miller is the sponsor but really, they used to sell bud in Texas Stadium...lol

Texas High School football is louder than college games and college games are louder than Pro games on a per person basis by a country mile.

Sadly, yes, this is true!

But big-time Texas High School football games are louder than Yankee/Red Sox games.

Not many events even compare to say the 1990 Carter-Odessa Permian football game at Texas Stadium. People stood all game and stomped on those aluminum seats like a drum chorus.

It all goes back to something adb said earlier... how much skin is involved. The vast majority of Texas high school kids are wholly committed to their high schools. And Texas high schools are judged first and foremost by how many games they win in football!

TAMU and Tech games in Lubbock were unbelievably fun experiences. Not as fun as high school games where you know most everyone in the stands but still exciting.

As we have proven on this forum there are all types of folks who are Cowboy fans and some we simply can't stand, lol, so that united front thing isn't as strong. And unlike the typical 15-20 year old I have to get up and go to work Monday morning:)~

The Friday night game was a prep game, so it wasn't quite like skyline or some of the high school games that I've seen on TV. But the parents stayed-up to 3 in the morning discussing the coaches and plays and what kid might be on roids (before this was a big issue). On the SW flight to Austin for the Texas game, the Captain got the passengers to start fight songs, and they were singing most of the way there. Of course the crowd at the game was crazy and more cohesive than any col legate fans that I've seen anywhere.

The Dallas home crowd at the Vikings game 2 years ago seemed more into the contest than they did at Giants game that I saw a decade ago, but were still far far more passive than any Pats, Giants, Jets, Vikings, Eagles or Bears fans that I've witnessed at their respective home games. Maybe the Cowboys are used to it and enjoy just not having a hostile crowd to deal with, but it is a weird experience for an out of region fan that is used to taking a beating from home team fans at Dallas away games.

Pretty strong words.

I think we have some of the best fans in the NFL, when was the last time we didn't have a sell out?

Agree PHof83 words were a little strong. Maybe he meant some folks that show up at games are not as enthusiastic as he and many others would like.

Allow me rephrase...

Compared to other stadiums around the league I've visited (KC, Buffalo, Seattle, Chicago, NO, etc...) we have an extremely tame fan base and in comparison it's quite pathetic. Honestly, we make about as much noise with 82,000 people as some college stadiums do with 50,000 people. What's more aggravating is that I know the fans at the game can get loud because they do it every game for about the first five minutes. But after that it's like everyone forgets to do our job as the 12th man.

Yeah, I think that the fans are dedicated but perhaps a little more reserved at home than I'm used to. Outside of Dallas, especially in NFC East territory, you have to be a brave and thick-skinned fan to publicly support your team. It was a relief to come down to the friendly confines of Texas Stadium, but I was more than a little bit surprised at the passive treatment of visiting fans and how much louder they were than the Cowboy fans surrounding them.

I think it has a whole heck of a lot to do with making sure working class people can afford to attend games. Of course my barometer is Lambeau and that is a stadium full of the working class - You'll always see camo and bright orange out there as the blue collar hunting types will make the pilgrammage from all over Wisconsin to get there.

Are there folks from all over Texas migrating to the stadium on game day? From what I've seen of the ticket prices and "seat licenses" and all this crap, I'd imagine that a large portion of the Cowboys' working class fans can't make it to the games....I know sure as hell that compared to Lambeau attending a game at Cowboys Stadium would be an extravagance, even assuming I was in the area to begin with.

Yes, this is strange - it's not like they are totally plowed like they are in Foxboro or South Philly. I've noticed the drunks in those stadiums losing steam as the game goes on.

Well, your comparing Green Bay, Wisconsin to Dallas, Texas.

green bay is smaller than rochester Ny. They are miniscule. What High rollers would live there? There is no industry or business there. Its a small town. How would anything but blue collar fans be there.

and I would like to see what parking, tickets and food prices are before you can just say its more affordable.

the florida marlins charge as much for food in their ballpark as the cowboys do....I never see people whining about the marlins prices.

ther are plenty of blue collar fans at Cowboys stadium. Many of us post here all the time.

Nonsense...

I am a college student and can afford my two seats just fine. It's all in how you as a person save and spend. By the way, I assure you that the people who are season ticket holders around me are far from "high class" citizens. People complaining about the PSL are off their rockers, you can pay the thing off over 30 years at 3% interest. We are one of 15 teams now in the NFL that has adopted the PSL system and if you are a season ticket holder it works in your favor.

Well there is the caveat that the regular season games are always sold out, so you need to find a ticket from a season ticket holder who can't attend or buy from some ticket exchange or a ticket scalper who will inevitably boost the price...But, the "sticker price" on a standard seat at Lambeau costs as much as the parking fee at Cowboys Stadium ($75)...At Lambeau the stadium parking is also entirely booked up by season ticket holders.

...And because Green Bay is indeed a small town, the streets and homes of Green Bay often sell their yards and sidewalks as parking space...So there is usually no need to park at Lambeau, instead you throw anywhere from $5 to $20 at a homeowner and park your vehicle there, and then walk a few blocks to the stadium.

So, on the cheap, theoretically you can attend a Packer game for as low as $80, usually ~$120, for a single ticket. I've never paid more than that to attend a game there. In fact I attended a game against St. Louis a couple years ago for all of $50. (Believe it or not!)

It's just simply much more accessible to average people. Do high rollers show up? Yes, but the vast majority of people in the stands, even the season ticket holders, are middle or lower income. I truly believe they make for louder, rowdier fans because they are more like a collegiate fanbase. I love the Cowboys and will until I die, but they have always seemed to me to attract a tamer quieter fanbase at the stadiums and the only thing that makes sense to me to explain it is the price difference and accessibility. I remember reading some of the Personal Seat License threads here from people thinking about buying them and they are outrageously expensive!!!

LOL!

So attending games at Cowboys Stadium is like taking out a second mortgage, eh? It's highway robbery.

and you just proved my point.

My seat costs 99 dollars. So 25 more than the gb ticket. And guess what, there is plenty of 20 dollar parking at cowboys stadium. You just use the 75 dollar parking to make your point. I am at every game and I dont even know where the 75 dollar parking is.

so 99 for my ticket plus 20 to park on web street, or center street etc.. is 120.

now if you want to say club seats are expensive, then yea your right they are. But guess what, club seats at every sporting event are expensive.
