I am known in my office as the big Commanders fan. I wear my old school Monte Coleman jersey nearly every Friday for casual day.

Not that I am due them, or even expected them, but the ONLY person in an office of about 200 to wish me condolences today was a Cowboy fan.

You star is shining bright today Cowboy fans.

This is hitting Skins fans and the DC area hard today. For many of us it harkens back to Len Bias. Another local DC guy. A young man with so much promise, seemingly on the brink of something magical, whose life is suddenly snuffed out, never afforded the opportunity to reach his potential.

Thank you for your touching tribute.

your post states exactly why i am so glad to be a cowboys fan.

i can only hope that Mr. Darrell Green being inducted into the hall of fame will take some of the sting out of this tragedy.

the best cornerback to ever play this game in my opinion....ageless wonder.

I posted this on another thread, but great job and move by Mods/Reality on posting respect to Taylor.

I was bit saddened by the loss as well, especially for Commanders fans.

I am late to this thread and I am sure no one will respond to this particular entry, but this entry is for me. So please forgive me while I am selfish for a minute and talk from my heart.

As a fan of the Cowboys it is natural to dislike anything Commanders. I was and am no different in this regard to any other fan to be honest. My dislike of their team does not come from any real world experience. In fact I don't believe I know a single Washington fan in real life. However, as a die hard Cowboy fan you learn quickly and early on that we are not to like them. Sometimes for good reasons.....especially when they beat us.

Today was a really sad day for me, maybe because I also lost my Dad recently. I felt disconnected, distracted, reflective and full of sorrow. I feel for the fans and most for his family and daughter left behind.

OK...CBZ....make a point you are rambling. I have come to realize in my reflections today that my dislike for Washingon is nothing more than sibling rivalry. They piss me off a lot but ultimately I have respect for them and always will. Sean Taylor was a young, strong, and talented man who died way too young and for no good reason.

I am so proud to be a Cowboy fan today with how we have reacted to the loss. Today I stand beside my Brothers the Washington Commanders, and for that it gives me some comfort and I hope for them too. They get my love, empathy, understanding, good thoughts and my hope for better days ahead.

Thank you guys for flying their colors here at the Zone, it never looked so beautiful. RIP Sean.

ps...Your hit on Moorman is one of my favorite plays ever!

I don't say much on our site. But I am proud of the way we can understand that there is more to life than football. Class act putting Commander colors up to support the Taylor family. From this cowboys fan

I personally want to thank you guys for all the support youve shown through this tragedy. It really means alot to see, that being rivals for so long, can be set aside in times like this. All the threads expressing your condolences and sympathy. And changing your message board colors, wow. My hats off to you guys.Classiest fans out you are.

And although i've always considered the cowboys a bitter, almost hated rival,it'll never be bitter or hateful again.Still a rival, but a respected one.
I look forward to week 17.Still gonna pull for my skins, but with a different attitude toward yall.Even though you'll be resting your starters and we'll be out of the playoff hunt.

Thanks again guys.
Good luck in the post season.Love to play yall for the NFC championship.

What he said.

I have to say that due to all the bad blood over the years, I was mildly surprised that you guys had the classiest and most heartfelt response to our loss of all the NFC East fans. Trust me, it's very much appreciated.

While I'll always consider you all rivals, I don't think I can ever really hate you all again. Let's just hope that we at Extremeskins.com don't ever have the need to return the favor.

Couldn't have said it better myself. This is a senseless tragedy that goes beyond football. I think we all realized that this was just a kid with a newborn and an entire lifetime of happiness still left in front of him. I learned today that sports bring people together in more ways than one. I would've never thought that I would feel this way about a player from the Commanders, but when I see him now even in uniform...I realize that I thrive off this rivalry and the relationships I've built because of it almost as much as I thrive off being just a Cowboys fan in general. In this sense, Sean Taylor meant more to me than I ever realized.

He will be greatly missed. It's gonna take a long time to get over this. RIP #21

Reality, you made us all look good... thanks for that, man... it makes me happy that my favorite Cowboys forum is out front when it comes to paying tribute to a fallen "enemy", and that your gesture is so greatly appreciated by the grieving Skins fans who have come in here to express that appreciation...

I say we keep the current background until after Sean's funeral early next week... then get rid of it, before all of this burgundy makes me hurl... LOL...

I wouldn't have thought of this kind of expression of solidarity, and I really appreciate you for thinking of it for us...

Hey everyone, I'm from the DC area and I'm a diehard Commanders fan just as you guys are diehard Cowboys fans. I just wanted to thank you all and especially the Staff of the website for the tribute that you are doing for our best safety. It really means alot to me that we can put the rivalry aside for a moment and reflect that a life was taken, not just an athlete. I have a cousin who's a Eagles fan and when I told him about what you guys are doing on your site, his exact words were "oh hell naw, I wouldn't go that far." My response to him was this, "don't worry dawg, we don't expect people with no class to have sympathy for a horrible tragedy, you are indeed a true eagles fan." I remember many years ago when the great Michael Irvin got injured in Philly and those clowns started cheering for that. I didn't cheer that he got hurt, I was hoping he'd get right up and walk off the field because he's a human being and I wouldn't wish any human being any pain. So anyways, you guys are a classy bunch of people and I'm honored that you took to the time to do all this for our guy. I have a newfound respect for Cowboy fans such as yourselves and I'll speak of this dedication you made for a long time. Once again, thank you all and good luck against the Packers!!!
