I really wish he would just tell Aubrey to boot it through the end zone. Don't overthink it and get cute with the landing zone. The risk far outweighs the reward.I do believe that is mostly Fassel. He might rightly get ripped at times for some of the risks he takes (when they fail), but he seems to have a pretty good eye for special-teams talent ... and how to shop for it under the Joneses — cheap players.
Of course, maybe McClay plays a major role there as well, but Aubrey especially seems to be a Fassel find.
His 80% is a lot better than 95 % of the players who play his position in the NFL. Has he had a down year yes, but this year he got voted in because his has the heart and soul of a true Pro Bowler who plays hurt, when most guys wouldn't even dress for the game and in the eyes of his peers he has earned the right to be voted in even though in your eyes he's not worthy of it.Give you a break about what? The pro-bowl is supposed to be the best players at a position per year. He's a sure fire hall of famer. Should be in his first year of eligibility. But his play this year is undeserving of pro-bowl honors.
maybe bates from the lions. he's having an aubrey-esque season w/ the leagues new darlingI’d wonder if it was Justin Tucker or the Chiefs kicker if it’s on popularity. Tucker certainly has struggled.
probowl is not voted by peers. and he's not voted in, he's 6th in votes for guards. he doesn't deserve to be in the probowl whatsoever this year. His 80% is a lot better than 95 % of the players who play his position in the NFL. Chris Boswell (PIT) is the best kicker in the League right now.Who is ahead of Aubrey?
I haven’t seen the other LB too much but Overshown has had quite the year….i could see him in the PB, he earned it. Maybe not starter, but I don’t know how well the other LB in the NFC have playedYeah Micah is ending his season strong shockingly. I think Overshown is a year away but he’s played very well for his rookie year.
Surprised Cee Dee is 5. He’s leading the league in catches at WR (Bowers actually leads the whole league as a freakin TE).Fan voting to date:
Fullback: Hunter Luepke, #6
Kicker: Brandon Aubrey, #2 (Boswell is #1 if you're wondering)
Long Snapper: Trent Sieg, #10
Return Specialist: KaVontae Turpin, #1 (Yay!!!)
Wide Receiver: Cee Dee Lamb, #5
Biggest surprise: Jalen Carter not even listed in the top ten. Sorry Eagle fans. And yes, he should be top one or two IMO. Dude is a menace.
In his prime maybe but even then the gap to the second best guy probably wasn't that large. His 80% is a lot better than 95 % of the players who play his position in the NFL.
I don't think he's 80% of what we've been accustomed to. Probably closer to like 56% maybe. Playing hurt doesn't get you pro-bowl honors. Playing well does. And the fact the line has improved since he's been out would lead some to believe that it may be best he had sat and healed up.His 80% is a lot better than 95 % of the players who play his position in the NFL. I don't doubt it one bit, but there aren't too many linemen that would continue to play hurt like Martin has. This is one reason why his peers are all in with him making the 2024 Pro Bowl. Also, everyone knows that if a player of Martin's stature is being elected every year to the Pro Bowl that name recognition means something too. At this point in Martin's career and this being his last year under contract with the Cowboys I'm betting that Martin calls it a career, takes a couple of years off and comes back to coach with possibly the Cowboys.I don't think he's 80% of what we've been accustomed to. Only sensible people think your way.....LOL!In his prime maybe but even then the gap to the second best guy probably wasn't that large.
But this isn't about the past or his heart or any other attribute. It should be very simply the players who are performing the best this year.
I agree, he doesn't but the Pro Bowl anymore is voted on by name recognition ............probowl is not voted by peers. and he's not voted in, he's 6th in votes for guards. he doesn't deserve to be in the probowl whatsoever this year.
