Sounds like a lot of wishful thinking in this thread.

As a 9er fan, I could give two $hits what this kid did in college. I care about what he's done so far in the NFL.

How many top 10 QBs or first round picked QBs you seen $hit the bed in the NFL.

If Purdy continues to play like he has, it will be a long day for the Cowboys D.
Did you watch the first half of the Hawks game ? The kid made a lot of bad throws and one could have been picked off. He’s not played a defense like this that can bring pressure, has Micah who gets to the QB consistently, and has DB’s who make picks. And we have an offense that can convert turnovers in to points. It will be a long day for somebody.

You mean like the 15 bad throws Dak has had picked off? Anyone can have a few bad throws, its how you recover. Howd that work out for the Hawks in the 2nd half?

Football is 4 quarters

Coming to a Cowboys message board and saying this as a fan of the Cowboys upcoming opponent, while acting offended that Cowboys fans dare to be hopeful that Dallas can win on Sunday with the right game plan. Makes sense I guess,

Just sayin Purdy will have pressure for 4 quarters and won’t get away with bad throws all game. And wake up dude, the Hawks were not a good team and you guys feasted on beating up on bad teams all season. Let’s see how you do when you leave the wading pool and get in to the deep end of the pool with your shaky rookie QB against good teams with winning records. You’re not playing Arizona again this week.

Sorry to disappoint you but it would take a lot more than this to "offend" me.

Whatever you wish to call it, you're coming to a Cowboys forum and trying to police/dictate to the Cowboys fans who are optimistic about the match up. Makes as much sense as a Cowboys fan going over to the Niners forum and posting "Wishful thinking" type of comments in all of the posts where 49ers fans are discussing how their team can win the match up on Sunday.

Oh so its you that's offended. Sorry if it hurts your feelings to have fans of opposing teams come to discuss up coming games, etc.. I'm not trying to "dictate" to anyone. By all means it's your board feel free to state your opinion as I will mine.

If you're so offended by opposing fans perhaps you should lobby your administrative members to not allow it, just keep in mind how that makes you look.

Not offended just don't know why you're acting surprised that Cowboys fans on a Cowboys forum are optimistic and hopeful about the Cowboys chances to win a game. Unless you think all of the views from this forum, are suppose to be that the Cowboys have no chance and might as well not show up this Sunday.

I stated my opinion about the comments, surprised by Cowboy fans being optimistic, not quite.

So Purdy has to worry about pressure based on game againt the Seahawks a division rival, but Daks performance against a 45 year old QB on a 8-9 team with no run game is bases for hype? Even though previous week he got his *** handed to him by WA 26-6? How many picks did Dak have in his game?

Half of San Fran's passes are BEHIND the scrimmage line. This, along with his elusiveness is why he's fared well. The niners want to get the ball to their playmakers .. in space. Pressuring Purdy is a given. Hard, no BS, sure, tackling wins Dallas the game.

Oh, and of course "Good Dak" shows up.

I live in iowa. Watched this kid play his entire time at ISU. He is very streaky and will crumble under pressure. He also has a hard time reading the middle of the field. Linebackers who can cover give him fits. He was benched three different times at ISU for interceptions and leadership issues. He can be had. Niners would be wiser to play jimmy g in my opinion. He is healthy enough by all reports. However the niners have a lot of weapons and stout lines so he is able to get by just enough to beat the scrubs the niners have played. Let’s not forget the seahacks were picked last in the entire nfc but overachieved. so even those wins don’t rate high. I do think the niners are a solid favorite but Purdy is the weak link. We just need to get to him and expose him.
he is being protected with defense and run game and simplifying the game for him. pressure will get to the rookie which is key and force a couple of interceptions.

Dak played against Brady....wait, Brady played defense. why didn't anybody tell me. what's going on around here. why isn't this news not being shared.

btw, you just ditched the GOAT. with 10 superbowls and 7 rings and still one of the better QBs in the league. I think SF would be sure superbowl favorites if Brady played for SF....

so kool the emotions on Purdy. he is still learning. if he is really good, he will succeed, but give NFL DCs enough game tape and they will dissect your game and find your weaknesses. there isn't enough game tape on him, and I am sure they are looking at his college game tapes to find his weaknesses...pretty standard.

We could do this all week. Let’s see what happens Sunday. Niner fans gave JJ Watt a classy send off at the end of their game.

He didn't have Kyle Shanahan running the offense in Iowa...

Shanahan makes it simple for the QB.
- In the 2019 season playoffs, Jimmy G has 6 completion on 8 attempts for 69 yards in a win over the Packers...
- The 49ers use the run game to setup the passing game.
You or I could have been the QB for San Fran in that game. The Packers had no answer in how to stop the run. They came out highly ranked in the pass defense department tho. So there is that.

Purdy is doing well in large part because of Kyle Shanahan’s offensive design. The offense is not necessarily completely hinged on the quality of QB play. The niners have already been to a SB with Jimmy G so Shanahan has proven he can win with average QB talent.

Everyone is waiting for Purdy to crumble but so far he hasn’t. Say what you will but San Francisco has played their best football this season with him at QB. With the 49ers number one defense and their offensive scheme he’s been able to manage games and play within himself. The only way he might crumble is to have to play from behind.

He hasn't so far because no defense has been to come up with the game plan to take away what makes things the easiest and most comfortable for him. If there's gameplans out there which can limit QBs like Mahomes and pressure Mahomes into miscues like INTs, then there's one for Purdy. It's only a matter of If and not when there are defenses who have the right personnel and coordinators to stop, pressure and rattle him.
