He hasn't so far because no defense has been to come up with the game plan to take away what makes things the easiest and most comfortable for him. If there's gameplans out there which can limit QBs like Mahomes and pressure Mahomes into miscues like INTs, then there's one for Purdy. It's only a matter of If and not when there are defenses who have the right personnel and coordinators to stop, pressure and rattle him.
He’s got a couple of great playmakers in McCaffrety and Deebo. All he has to do is get the ball in their hands. It’s being supported by a great defense. We’ve seen teams with average QBs win Super Bowls because of a great defense. Jim McMahon, Jeff Hostetler, Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson. It’s all about taking the pressure off your QB. The only sure fire way to get Purdy to falter is to get him in a come from behind situation being down by 2+ scores.

All this talk about Purdy but he hasn’t shown any of these weaknesses in the NFL. It must be the professional players he has around him and the added benefit of having the best offensive minded coach calling plays.

Dallas will have to play a damn near perfect game to win Sunday night.

I’m just glad they get to play another game.

I know this is about Purdy and he's pretty good imho, but the Cowboys have to beat a team...the 49ers got a squad. Shanahan might be the best OC in the game, and he has a ish ton of weapons for any QB to drive that bus. I mean a check down pass could be tough to stop. Anyways if Dallas defense bring the same intensity minus (Diggs bullish) they'll be fine.

What we need is to put them in a hole by being down by 14 points early. This would take them out of their normal running game and put the pressure of Purdy's back.

That San fran defense is the same one that game up a bunch of points to the Raiders. And also gave up a 44 points to the best offense they played all season in the Chiefs. When they go up against the Cowboys offense who is capable of scoring in the 30-40 point range, or potentially the Eagles, Bills or Chiefs, if they somehow make it to the Super Bowl, then that will be a bigger test for their defense than anything they have mostly have to face during their winning streak.

Defensive coordinators know the weapons which makes Purdy the most comfortable, and there will eventually be one who is going to find out a way to take those away. Because no QB or offense is 100% invincible to having a off game or being game planed against. The 49ers are capable of making it to the Super Bowl. But also there's a reason why rookie QBs have never won the Super Bowl, even during seasons in which they are deemed to be unstoppable.

The 49ers defense gave up under 20 points in 11 games during the regular season. Their defense has gotten better as the season has gone on. You’re not going to hold everyone down. They have the number one ranked defense. We’re going to have a tough time moving the ball and scoring on them. If we can’t run the ball Bosa and Company will be pinning their ears back.

Them holding teams to under 20 points is at least in part because of the below .500 teams they have played. It could be that their defense is legit, but it's not a far reach to say that the Cowboys offense will provide just as big of a test for their defense. As Kyle Shanahan's play calling ability in making things easy and comfortable for Purdy, will provide for the Cowboys defense. The best offense and QB they played during their win streak was Herbert/the Chargers. Other than that, there was really no QB or offense from this season (the teams from their win streak included the Cardinals twice, Saints with Andy Dalton, the Dolphins who were starting to fall off by that point, Commanders with Wentz ) which can be said will provide them an equal or bigger test than the QBs and offenses who are remaining in the playoffs.

Again with KC game. Go look at how many starters were out, especially on D. CMC just got to SF. But keep looking at those stats and completely ignor the 11 games after that if it makes you feel more confident.

Shanahan gets the most out of his QBs. Molds his game pan to their strengths.

he even got scatter-armed Kaepernick to the Super Bowl.

QBs will just be more efficient in his offense. Add in the loaded roster around Purdy and you get your answer.

His numbers look great but I still think he is a potential liability in this game for them.

I live in iowa. Watched this kid play his entire time at ISU. He is very streaky and will crumble under pressure. He also has a hard time reading the middle of the field. Linebackers who can cover give him fits. He was benched three different times at ISU for interceptions and leadership issues. He can be had. Niners would be wiser to play jimmy g in my opinion. He is healthy enough by all reports. However the niners have a lot of weapons and stout lines so he is able to get by just enough to beat the scrubs the niners have played. Let’s not forget the seahacks were picked last in the entire nfc but overachieved. so even those wins don’t rate high. I do think the niners are a solid favorite but Purdy is the weak link. We just need to get to him and expose him.
Solid favorite??? The line is +4 Cowboys. On the road that is near a push. Additionally the betting action is split. SF is not a solid favorite.

I think any good coach would watch an opposing rookie quarterback's college tape to see what they struggle with.

Exactly what I was saying. When he second guesses himself, he's vulnerable.

I wouldn’t put much stock into them holding teams under 20 points because of playing 500 teams. We gave up 31 points to a sub 500 Packers team and 40 points to a sub 500 Jacksonville team. Granted Jacksonville did score 6 of their points on a pick-six in OT. The Bears put up 29 and they were sub 500.

Yet there is a lot of stock being put into the fact that the Cowboys beat Tampa, who everyone is calling an terrible team after a week of declaring how there was zero chance the Cowboys were going to beat the Bucs. If they are going to do that, then it's fair to look at the teams the 49ers played.

WE;

Well with all due respect how a guy plays in college has no bearing on how he will play in the NFL. He seems to be handling pressure fine but of course that's our only shot at the 49ers offense. Gotta get to him and make him uncomfortable.

When he's a rookie and thats the bulk of the tape that's what you'd do if you want details that should be important to your gameplan.

Cowboys had injuries this season too. Doesn't stop people from downplaying the 12 wins the Cowboys got this season, by claiming that the Cowboys had zero chance to beat Tampa and now zero chance to beat the 49ers.

Rookie QBs haven't won a Super Bowl for a reason and this Sunday Dan Quinn most come up with the game plan to show exactly why no rookie QB has ever won a Super Bowl. No matter how great they looked during an NFL season.
It almost reminds me of a situation where a team had an option to put the vet back in. Darn, wish i could remember those particulars.

Maybe a testament to how good San Fran is...

Purdy out here ballin' because the teams is so good.

I worry about this kids legs...he seems fast...like real fast. That always gives NFL defenses trouble when a QB can take off
He's fast, but not Micah Parsons, Sam Wlliams fast...
