skins agree with fletcher?

Clements is listed 6-0 209, how big do you want your corners?

Now Fletcher on the other hand is listed 5-10 245. Thats pretty short for a MLB.

He may be listed at 6'0 but I don't believe he's that tall at all. I see him closer to 5'9.. Those listings are NEVER correct...

Well, I hate to break it to you but he was 5-11 209 at the 2001 Combine. Maybe you are getting Clements mixed up with Antoine Winfield, he use to play for Buffalo but signed with Minnesota a few years ago. He's 5-9 180.

McGee is also short. Little stockier though. Could be confusing with him.

I guess I'm wrong, I just thought he was shorter...

Clements has shown over and over that he's not too small. He's an inch shorter than Henry and an inch taller (and about 10 lbs heavier) than Newman.

I wouldn't be suprised if that were the case since McGee was the Bills best CB, not Clements

A 32 year old 5'10" middle linebacker? Looks like the Danny might have found his next Michael Barrow.

How many of their MLBs have they let go over the last few years because they wanted too much money, only to sign this guy? geeze.

nate clements is small? 6ft 206 lbs is small?then newman is scrawny?

Fletcher is still a pretty good player, he had one of his better seasons in recent years this past year. That said, he'll be 32 when the season starts, so you have to imagine he'll be slowing down pretty soon here.

John Clayton said saturday on his huddle program on espn radio that it was pretty well known at the combine, the skins already have fletcher signed and he will be there mlb next year. He also said it is almost a lock they sign clements.

he then went on to bury the bills. Saying that they will be well below the cap because they dont want to spend alot of money. They are going to trade mcgahee, not resign fletcher...and there is now talk that spikes will be released.

If what you say is true about Clayton's comment (not doubting you, but the jist of the subject matter) why wouldn't that be tampering?

On the 2 Minute Drill at 8:30 PM Eastern, they reported the Commanders have reached an agreement with Bills LB London Fletcher.

Isn't this tampering by some means?

Yeah, that would most certainly be tampering... of course, in years past, the commish was Tags, and he was a Skins season ticket holder, so the league turned a blind eye to their tampering, year in and year out... and the Skins seemed to sign the top target on their free agent wish list, year in and year out...

We've discussed this before, ALL teams tamper, they all wink at the rules for the start of free agency... there are strong rumors the Boys are already negotiating with Leonard Davis...

But IF the Skins come out of the gate swinging, and sign Fletcher on the first day, the new commish should have them in his office ASAP, and launch a formal investigation into tampering, after Clayton's report... further, the agents for the players signed should be investigated, and if found guilty of collusion in the tampering, have their licenses suspended for a time...

The Skins have been the most egregious offender of this rule for some years now, and if the rule is to mean anything at all, they have to be stopped... if ALL the teams in the league followed the rules, then no team would be at a competitive disadvantage by waiting until the rules say you can start talking to free agents... there would be no need to tamper...

Fletcher is a good player but nothing special. I don't view that as a big signing.

Nate is a good corner. He doesn't have Newman's coverage ability but he'll pick off a couple more passes.

FLETCHER DEAL NOT DONE?

Although there are rampant rumors that the Washington Commanders have reached a deal with Bills middle linebacker London Fletcher, a source close to Fletcher says that a final decision has not been made.

The Commanders, Patriots, Lions, and Bills are interested in Fletcher, and the source says that the Bills currently are the favorites to land London, with the Commanders at No.2 on the list.

Ideally, however, the Bills should have the exclusive ability to negotiate with Fletcher until Friday. But that's simply not how it works in the NFL anymore; virtually every team violates the prohibition on tampering when the time comes to talk to pending free agents. Indeed, we're not aware of a single team that doesn't get an early start on chatting with players who technically are the property of others.

The NFLN basically said they expect the Commanders to sign Fletcher tonight. Didn't mention anything about a deal yet however.

The Commanders might be able to squeeze 2 good years out of him, now Clement would be a real good signing for them.

Well, I think that is exactly what they are bringing him in for... become a 2-3 year starter while we draft a MLB next year to become the permanent replacement... at least that is what im hoping for. Hopefully the contract will justify this, and we wont sign some ridiculous 5 year deal.

Also, I don't understand all the hate towards fletcher. He has played at a premier level for 7 straight years now. While during that time, he hasn't missed a game. People say he is too old and washed up, yet, he broke several career highs last season, and actually had one of the better years in his career.

Considering our MLB woes last year, I love the signing...as long as it is just a short term fit

I suspect the "hate" is probably at his proposed destination. ;)
