There are different kinds of cap hell. The one the skins are in right now: scrambling to restructure, having to cut quality depth, etc.

They have no depth. They cut Vincent after they preached how much he meant to them last year but then they keep Archuletta who they can't even put on the field.... Unbelievable!!! I love lil Dannys work. He's won absolutely NOTHING since he's come into the league and he'll continue to win NOTHING. His frtofc moves are a JOKE to the NFL.

The Commanders didnt cut Bailey, they didnt cut Pierce, they didnt cut Arrington.

A player would be stupid to not take guaranteed money to re-structure.

Sounds like hell to me.

Peyton Manning just re-structured.

They arent cutting quality depth, they are cutting unproven, or questionable depth.

I am not saying I agree at all with their methods, but at the same time the cap isnt the real issue for the Commanders. Its the bad choices they have made through FA and the draft.

And yet, in the first 5 games of the season that Springs missed, the Skins gave up an average of 236.4 yards per game passing, and 22.0 points per game...

In the other 11 games, they gave up 209.9 yards per game, and 19.0 points per game...

I dunno, the bottom line seems to be telling us that the Skins played better pass defense with him than without him...

If they sign anybody of note, it will be because they cut some folks... and after sending Ryan Clark and Walt Harris packing last year (and watching Harris go to the Pro Bowl with the Niners), and replacing them with megabust Adam Archuleta, perhaps the Skins should finally wise up, and realize that going out and buying all the "marquee" free agents you can possibly find every year hasn't worked for them...

In particular, you have to wonder about their ability to evaluate defensive backs...

As for being surprised about who the Skins will sign, with all those teams having all that cap room, they're likely to find themselves surprised at the bidding wars that will certainly come about for the best players... there will be numerous teams with a LOT of money to throw around... maybe the Skins can get to 10 mil under the cap, that will put them at about 25th in the league in cap room... the Boys are right around 21 mil after re-signing Gurode, and that only puts them around 18th in the NFL in cap room...

This year, ten mil won't buy what it would have in years past... example-- I'm already hearing that Kris Dielman and Eric Steinbach are looking for deals that average about 7 mil a year... that's more than Steve Hutchinson got last year, and neither one of them can carry Steve's jock...

Clements and Fletcher alone would almost certainly wipe out whatever cap room you guys could manage to manufacture-- IF you can get them to sign on... after years in Buffalo, they might want to go to a team with a real chance at going somewhere in the playoffs next year... or other teams might throw an obscene amount of money at one or both, effectively taking the Skins out of the picture...

I'd love to see them give him BIG LOOT. He's a midget!! I can see him trying to cover TO now.. :lmao:

Manning restructuring is completely different from yall restructuring. Manning is on a winning team and just won the SB, your BUMS are restructuring cats that they won 5 games with.. BIG BIG difference!!!!

What is really funny is how Lil Danny and his fellow jokers are still able to have all these RedStink fans still following them around believing that they will eventually get it right!

Talk about a "Jones Town and purple Kool-Aid moment!

Also what is funny is, while these newly aquired bum players are on their team, they are the best in the business...but, when Lil Midget needs some money to stay in business and he gets rid of those players, "they were not that good anyway"...

I feel sorry for RedStink fans...Lil Midget has them right by the gonads, and they are loving the feel of it!

;)

He was not nearly as bad as you suggest. And is still one of the best RTs in the NFL.

No, he's not as bad as has been suggested in here... at the same time, it's LUDICROUS to call him "one of the best RTs in the NFL", when his next Pro Bowl appearance will be his first... if you've played 8 years in the league, and have never been to the Pro Bowl, you're clearly NOT one of the best in the league at your position...

Jansen is serviceable, he's durable, every team can use a journeyman like him... but he is not now, nor has he ever been, a star...

That's one of the traits that seems to be common with you Skins fans, you all seem to severely overrate your players... I've seen some of your brother Skins fans also try to tell me that Randy Thomas was one of the best guards in the league... again, if that were true, where are the Pro Bowl appearances??

The only offensive lineman you have who IS one of the best in the league at his position is Chris Samuels, and he's not as dominant as he was a couple-three years ago...

Yall isnt a word, I know you are just trying to fit in and all. But its Y'all. You are from Super suburbia MD. People dont say Y'all. Very unusual for you to post that since, I find it hard to believe that you use Y'all in everyday conversation.

Anyway, the reasoning is the same. What part of that dont you understand ?
The guy gets more upfront money to help the team move forward, and helps the team improve by doing so.

I thought Germantown was in Montgomery County. I went to school in Montgomery County, and I dont recall people being so... Guess its just a sign of the times.

Tough! He owns the team, right? They still pay for merchandise, right?

I'll tell you what...the Cowboys go 9 -7 and all hell breaks loose in Cowboy nation...but, the RedStinks can go 2-14 and their fans are still there, shelling out their money....

No, Lil Midget has them by the jewels...

That is because we are fans of America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys, and we don't settle for nothing less the the best!

Get it, now?

While you poor jokers follow St. Gibbs and The Midget over the cliff...

Cowboy fans are not fairweather fans, we are fans that have much higher standards....

Again, logic has never been your best attribute....

If you really ARE among the best at your position, and you've played in the league 8 years, then you'll have a couple-three Pro Bowls on your resume...

I know it's a popularity contest, but you get popular in the first place by playing better than the others at your position...

Randy Thomas and Jon Jansen are good, they'd upgrade the Cowboys at their respective positions, but they're nowhere near the best at their positions...

Either might be in the top 10 at his position, but certainly not top 5...

Again with the Probowl measure. I recall Mike Vick being a Pro bowl QB too.

At the RT position their are very few who are at the level that Jansen is. Not to mention, but even just top 10 at their positions qualify them as among the best (which was my original point as far as Jansen).

If somehow, Jansen would be released tomorrow for salary cap reasons, guess what?

He would be the biggest bum in the NFL and was not worth the money he was getting paid. Also, his play got worse and he is really no good anymore.

We have seen it all from you RedStinks...over, and over, and over and over...

Dude who cares if I say "yall" or Y'all"? Whats the difference? You know what I mean and what in the hell does it have to do with this conversation... Unbelievable!! I didn't know that this board was english class...
