Yes, some undeserving people make the Pro Bowl every year... but DESERVING people, if they play in the league as long as Jansen and Thomas have, eventually get their day in Hawaii...

But I think you already know that, you're just too stubborn to admit that you exaggerated JUST a little when you called Jansen one of the best RTs in the game...

even just top 10 at their positions qualify them as among the best (which was my original point as far as Jansen).

Being the tenth best of 32 starters doesn't make you "among the best" in my book...

If somehow, Jansen would be released tomorrow for salary cap reasons, guess what?

He would be the biggest bum in the NFL and was not worth the money he was getting paid. Also, his play got worse and he is really no good anymore.

10th out of 32 sounds like its among the best to me. Not saying elite, not saying greatest, just saying he is among the current best. Thats over 66 % of the guys in the league that he is better than (at his position).

Surely some guys will try to bash, but I dont think it would be many at all, at least not enough to make such a generalization.

There are fan boys of many players in this league. Look among your allies. Carter fans still exist here, and lets not forget Bledsoe to the hall.

"One of the best", when you're talking about a sampling size of 32 starters around the league, is more like one of the 3 or 4 best, not one of the 10 best...

If I played in a golf tournament (I was a club pro for about 15 years in a younger day) that had 32 players in the field, and came in 10th, would I be one of the best players in that tournament??

Means he is better than nearly 70% of the rest of the guys at his position. Therefore pretty good.

I love the way Lil Danny operates and I hope he doesn't change a thing. He has the highest paid coaching staff and one of if not the highest paid team in the league and he won 5 games.. He's won nothing since he bought the team. Absolutely NOTHING!!!!!! Like I said, I love his work!!!!

Whether you like it or not, for active players appearances in the Pro Bowl is the measuring stick for excellence...

All those guys who you say are undeserving but still made the Pro Bowl only make it WORSE that Thomas and Jansen, who you say are among the best at their position, never have made it...

Sometimes, undeserving players get in... but DESERVING players ALWAYS make it at least a time or two over the course of their careers...
