Are you comparing Adam to MikeD17?? Blasphemy :D
RCF is also the same guy who wants every team's trash and leftovers...

The fact that he would try to compare Adam to someone who's banned ranks right up there with him the very crap that he wants Dallas to go after.

I'm guessing it has to do with Danny Boy's allergy to draft picks. They must really hate draft day in D.C.

As mucha as we criticize them for it, it's not a bad strategy. It just hasn't worked yet. If they were trading these picks away for thirty-somethings, then there would be legit criticism. As it is, it's all guys in their early to mid 20s, with lots of good years ahead. The downside is the cap and lack of depth, but if they can get through a season like they did last year with the injury situation, I think alot more teams might look at doing it that way.

Until they do, though, color me real skeptical that you can make it happen solely with a nice starting 22.

Betts will be traded for O-line depth. The Skins wanted a goal-line back and Betts doesn't really fit that role. Duckett is one of the best in the business at scoring from within 5 yards. CP's fantasy stock just dropped.

Another link, although it focuses on Lelie --

ATLANTA -- Filling their need for a No. 3 wide receiver, the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday night acquired disgruntled Denver Broncos veteran Ashley Lelie in a three-team trade, ESPN.com has learned.

The Falcons sent former first-round tailback T.J. Duckett to the Washington Commanders and the Broncos will receive an undisclosed draft choice in the deal. The Falcons have been shopping Duckett in trade talks much of the offseason.

Atlanta's need for a No. 3 wideout was heightened when veteran Brian Finneran suffered a season-ending knee injury early in training camp. Denver has been attempting to find a trade partner for Lelie, who did not participate in any offseason drills and had not reported to training camp.

The Broncos had offered Lelie to the Chicago Bears, but the two teams could not reach a deal.

Lelie had indicated he wanted to be a No. 1 receiver, but he didn't think he'd receive that chance in Denver with Rod Smith coming off a Pro Bowl season and the Broncos acquiring Javon Walker on draft day.

At the end of July, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan had said, "Guys want players who are going to come in here and want to be part of the team and want to work hard to be part of the team. If you don't want to be part of the team, then don't be part of the team. Just keep doing what you're doing and hold out."

I have never seen a front office that holds such little regard for Draft Picks and the entire draft process. Giving away a third or fourth for a running back? I dont get it, The model in todays nfl is to get running backs in the draft, in the middle of the draft at that. I cant believe the way they just throw them away?

I guess that's one way to look at it. Then again, 31 other teams look at it a different way. Like you said, depth is really their problem and they have no hope of gaining it without 3-7th round picks.

Like I said - until it works, I am not a believer in it.

But I can at least see what they're attempting to do.

I don't like that at all. Duckett's a horse.

I live in Atlanta, and Duckett is not what you think. He's always hurt and he tiptoe through the hole. Bad move for the skins IMHO.

Good, I'll take your word for it. :) I admit I haven't seen him much the last couple of years.

It does seem like he'd be perfect for the Alex Gibbs chop block system, though, so maybe if he can't make it there, he can't make it.

Wait a second? I thought the Commanders didn't have any draft picks to give away? ;)

Nice pickup for the Skins, I like Duckett.

really dont know why...he's been "just another guy" since he came in the league...he's a more elusive Troy Hambrick with less blocking and receiving skills

Nice 3.9 ypc average.

Duckett is obviously their goal line option. Maybe a stopgap until Portis is full healthy, just eat some carries.

This makes no sense --

Broncos wide receiver Ashley Lelie got his wish Tuesday night as did the Broncos.

Lelie wanted a change of scenery and has gotten one as Denver was part of a three-way trade with the Washington Commanders and the Atlanta Falcons. In the end the Falcons ended up with Lelie, the Broncos have the potential to get the Commanders' first- and third-round draft picks and the Commanders got running back T.J. Duckett.

Denver will receive Washington’s first- and third-round picks if the Commanders’ finish with a worse record than the Broncos this season and thus have a higher pick. If Washington finishes with a better record than Broncos they will then get the Commanders’ third- and fourth-round picks.

The trade was completed Tuesday night as the three teams agreed to the terms.

For Lelie it means he finally gets back on the field after vowing he would not play for the Broncos again if he didn't have to. He has been upset at the prospect of being the "No. 3 receiver with the Broncos and nothing more'' after the team traded for, and then signed long-term, wide receiver Javon Walker.

Lelie had not attended any of the Broncos offseason workouts and had not attended training camp. The team had fined Lelie $14,000 a day, a total that reached $322,000 for training camp alone as of Monday's practice.
