Its official. I see him being more of a blocking TE but a good pickup for the skins. It really surprises me how aggressive and precise they are.

Still waiting for a Defensive player though.

YES! You Redstinks are going to win multiple SuperBowls!

Cap hell has never felt so good.

I really dont know where this money is going, but as you guys say Snyder is a cruel businessman. I think he knows how to manage money.

Commanders sign WR Randle El, TE FauriaPrint this article

March 12, 2006

(UPDATING WITH OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT)

WASHINGTON (Ticker) - The Washington Commanders have found their complement to Pro Bowl wide receiver Santana Moss.

The Commanders on Sunday signed wide receiver Antwaan Randle El.

Terms were not disclosed, but the Washington Post reported that it was a seven-year deal worth $31 million.

The signing comes one day after Washington acquired wide receiver Brandon Lloyd from the San Francisco 49ers for two draft picks.

With new offensive coordinator Al Saunders, the Commanders plan to employ more three receiver sets in 2006.

The Chicago Bears were also interested in signing Randle El, who is an Illinois native.

Randle El, 26, spent his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and proved to be more of a versatile performer than a reliable receiver. He caught 35 passes for 558 yards - an average of 15.9 yards per catch - last season.

Since he was a college quarterback, Randle El gave Pittsburgh the ability to run numerous gadget plays and one of them came in Super Bowl XL when he threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Hines Ward in the fourth quarter of a 21-10 win over Seattle.

Randle El was also the only NFL player to return two punts for touchdowns last season.

Washington also signed tight end Christian Fauria on Sunday. Fauria, 34, has spent the last four seasons with the New England Patriots, where he won two Super Bowl titles.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I probably am, but it seems like all Snyder does is signs players to multi-year, back-loaded contracts with the first few years of the contract being very cap friendly.

Then, before they take a big cap hit from the contract, they restructure it.

If that's the case, then I don't see how they'll ever truly be in cap hell. If the players are dumb enough to restructure their contract, then the Skins really never have to worry about anything.

I'm surprised no one's picked up on this myself.

Now now...

Don't be calling them dumb. They all stepped up to the plate and restructured. Don't you guys get it? Gibbs has been here two years and already built a team first culture.

Sorry Parcells hasn't done the same for you.

Two mid round draft picks for Lloyd.

$31 million for Randle-el who caught a whopping 35 passes for 558 yards.

And, a 34 year old TE.

As long as the players do it,, the skins will be fine.. it will be when 2 or 3 say FO and pay me.. then they will be in huge trouble. But that day may never come. As far as I can tell they have taken care of one need by signing 2 players for it lol.. not good management to me. They paid huge money to Randell El , sure they paid alot to LLoyd but haven't found any numbers on his contract.. and they still need to upgrade the OL, DT and CB and SS. With only a few picks in the draft, they have to do this in FA.. I dont know how much money they have, but they will be right at the cap by the start.. so if anyone gets hurt,, they can't bring anyone in. I am not overly impressed with their signings.. neither WR are #1 wr, LLoyd makes great catches but drops just as many easy ones or just flat out ducks them. Randell EL is a good return guy for them, but not much of a wideout threat. this TE they signed, seems be just a blocker and not a recieving threat.. much like Dan Campell. I have seen nothing by them in FA that puts them in any better spot than they were at the end of the season,, of course,, the same can be said bout my cowboys.

I'd be more jealous if a patchwork team of free agents had won a SB. I don't think you can change so many players year in and year out without sacrificing continuity and chemistry. I think signing tons of FA, esp big names, is almost like cheating. I guess I'm old school.
I'm not taking shots at the skins, although I do love to do so. I think they signed some good players, overpaid, but good players at need positions. It looks like they have really improved on paper, but then we've been here before, several times. Preseason Super Bowl champs!!! again.

Exactly.

They didn't actually get... Terrell Owens, Randy Moss and Tony Gonzalez did they?
