Skins land Fauria

I've never seen this many skins fans on this site ever. Not even after they crushed in their last game. I guess it's true they enjoy winning the offseason more than any other part of the game.

If this is a football game, we are about 5 min in the game and are down by 1. Its not even close to being over.. and besides that.. what is a win in the offseason, who signs the biggest names to the dumbest contracts or who fills their needs with good players at good prices?

Two mid round draft picks for Lloyd.

$31 million for Randle-el who caught a whopping 35 passes for 558 yards.

And, a 34 year old TE.

I'm shaking in my boots [/sarcasm]

Lloyd is a bargain for a 3rd and a 4th.

Randle El is a great player (what does his contract have to do with his on the field ability)

Fauria is a good blocker and has sure hands, i.e. both upgrades over Robert Royal.

Congrats on signing your guard, btw.

hey, we can start talking about the postseason if you would like...

oh wait...

I will say our 3 biggest signings the last couple of years have certainly paid off (Portis, Moss, and Springs). No we haven't won a SB with them yet, but then again neither have 30 other teams every year.

But Snyder's smartest moves don't come on the personnel side anyway. He finally got that you've got to have a great coach and he has upgraded the coaching staff the past couple of seasons. This has proven to be the biggest difference maker. Consistent improvement every year and creating an organization that is set to succeed even after Gibbs retires. This is why I actually believe that Snyder gets a bum rap. Frankly, he made a lot of dumb mistakes when he first took over the team and it took him a good long while to figure it out. But recently (since bringing Gibbs back), I've been very happy with what he has done with the team. Anyone who believes that the Skins have regressed the last couple of years is dead wrong.

Yeah we could talk about that if you wanted to. Oh wait, I just got signed by the skins for 45 million dollars...I gotta go. Chump.

Hey we can talk about overall postseason if you like. Head to head records, our winning streaks that dwarf your current 2.

Your call. You wanna make this a pissing match?

Bingo!

That Dan Snyder is so stupid...

Never call the man stupid. Hell is alot more successful than I am.. so who am I to say anything. But i will anyway :) I just think throwing away very good money on decent to good football players because they have a name is not a wise way to go.IF the skins had a SB or Two doing this since he's been there, i wouldn't say a word. But it hasn't payed off on the field so I can conclude, its not a wise way. The defination of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

...Keep your friends close...your enemies closer :)

Seriously though, I'd rather have a debate with someone who hates us than sit around agreeing all the time. I'll get a much livelier debate over here.

Whats this? Commanders fans keeping the Cowboys fans apprised of our *** kicking offseason? HAH!

LMAO. If they had signed Owens, Gonzalez, and maybe a Javon Walker type WR, then it would be an ***-kicking offseason.

But they didn't...they signed 1 average WR, 1 pretty decent KR, and 1 over the hill TE but paid them all like they were Pro Bowlers.

Now that's funny!!

There are a lot of threads floating around here(well, besides this one which was started by a skins fan), for us to make mediocur signings. Threads about whos WR corps are better and such. Now tell me, if our players are so average, then whats the point for a discussion?

I'll give all of you crowing Skins fans as lively a debate as you want. Me against the bunch of you. I don't care.

I'll be glad to keep it civil as long as ya'll keep it real and be honest.

I like the lively debates.

Randle El is great player? :laugh2: Prove it!!. His stats prove he is not even close to being a great player. He wasn't even great in college.

Royal played more than Fauria, and Fauria was a 3rd stringer. Yeah, he's great too. :laugh2:

And again, the Commanders have been running out and scooping up what they thought were great players in free agency for over 6 years now....resulting in how many Lombardi's? -0-

And yet their fans year in and year out forget that in the previous years, this method has not worked, and they get all giddy thinking the Super Bowl is in the bag.

I love the outcome after every season when that spot in their trophy case doesn't get filled.

That's easy. We are rivals.

You are saying you got great players, but their stats prove otherwise. Lloyd had a decent season, but the other two did not.

Dang dude...relax. I'm always real about football. I'm sure I hate the cowboys as much as you hate the skins...but that's what makes a good rivalry.

To me the best thing that happened to the rivalry this past year was us sweeping you guys and the Eagles. It has been so long and started to seriously rekindle the rivalry...which is hands down the best rivalry in the NFL. The Commanders doing well makes for football which is a LOT more entertaining because now the NFC East is going to be the toughest division in the NFC.

You have been so far. I think your cohorts are out of their ever loving minds.

I offered to debate the whole lot of you crowing in this thread about how well you're doing. So far no one wants to dance.

I mean, I know it's a mismatch, but maybe some of the others will hear about it and come help you guys.

Oh, this is how I relax. Thanks for caring.

:wink2:

Let me ask you Riggo, and please be honest.

Is Snyder's method (don't call it Gibbs', it's been around prior to his return) of signing these backloaded deals and restructuring or releasing players before the cap hell happens working? Is it bringing you everything you hope and dream about?

i've addressed this in another thread.

spending is not going to do anything unless you have someone who can coach. gibbs year one- 6-10, year two 10-6. the man has won 3 lombardis with less talent than he has at his disposal now.

as for hopes, so far its gotten the skins a sweep of dallas and a sweep of the eagles, along with a playoff win.

second point- is dallas' spending habits bringing you everything you hope and dream about?

You didn't answer the question you side stepped it and tried to deflect it.

I asked you to be honest. Respond if you can. Don't bother if you can't.

Do I need to repeat it or can you scroll back up and see for yourself?
