A matter of fact, if Heyer can hold his own against Philly, I'll eat crow then.

Only aspect of the Skins I worry about is their running game. Portis and Betts can just flat pound the football.

Campbell is just... meh. He still releases the ball too high and hangs his receivers out to dry, and most of his yards today came when he just threw the ball up like a wounded duck and ARE made a play on the ball. I'm not impressed.

I don't know....I thought his deep throws to ARE were both very good. Right on the money....not ducks at all.

Skins looked like trash at home against a weak Miami team.

Campbell suffers from inconsistency. At moments he looks like a Pro Bowler and then a complete dud. If he gets better or not, who knows. I do know that our offense is good enough to be in the top 10 this year, same with our defense.

Your Madden games on Rookie don't count....

They were both good throws, but imo, those were the only 2 worth anything. He hit S.Moss on a few slants and had a few short ones, and obviously the last ARE pass was a fluke, but for the most part, he looked like a rookie

I don't imagine he'll miss more than 3-4 weeks with that injury.

Wrong, he's definitely out for the year and maybe more. I agree with another poster that the Skins may improve without him, though. Jon's definitely lost a step.

The only bright spot about Jansen is that hes our 5th best lineman and we have guys who can play good behind him.

We'll miss his leadership though. Hes been the rock of this team for the past 8 years.

That a way for Danny to give him that extension;)

Show it to the eagles and get back to us, OK?

I've stayed out of this, but no way on both of those. Closer on the defense but around 15th is more likely. I don't consider that an insult BTW. I like your rushing offense if Portis stays healthy and Betts also gets touches. But to be top 10 you have to throw as well, and that's going to be an up and down proposition all year.

And even as our 5th best lineman, hes still a damn good player. He deserves every bit of money when hes on the field. A guy who plays through broken thumbs and ribs deserves every extension possible. Even if he can't play a down anymore, I hope Jansen stays with this team.

I disagree Hos, just like the boys, if we stay healthy, can be great on either side of the ball. Campbell had a rough start, but that's hardly indicative of an entire season. He will have down games, but so does everyone else. Rivers didn't throw a TD and threw an INT, but you wouldn't say the same thign about Rivers that you say about Campbell... Give him a couple of games and then we'll know more.

I wonder if the Cowboys have some? We will see...

Skins fan here. Tough break for Jansen, but between Wade and Heyer I think we will be okay. Run game looked good. Campbell was inconsistent again...he has yet to put a full game together. Hits the tough passes but misses the easy ones. Had a couple drops....but he is still a question mark. Run defense looked great. Pass defense was average to below average. Smoot was bad and I don't know where Springs was. Landry, Fletcher, and Mcintosh are running the show just like preseason.

So far we look like the 8-8 team I thought we were.

Watching the Boys-Giants game. Cowboys look good, even with the banged up secondary. Romo looks good. He is quick and accurate throwing over the middle. If defenses can take away the middle and force him to throw to the sidelines they might have a chance or else he'll eat them up with Owens/Witten all day.

Did you see our OLine manhandle the Fin Dline with a rookie RT?

ROTFLMAO... more revisionist history by a Skins homer...

The TRUTH is, until the Skins got lucky on the last play of regulation, that garbage 54 yard Hail Mary, the Skins had "manhandled" the Fins to the tune of 288 yards of total offense, on 53 plays...

And when push came to shove, the Skins racked up an awesome 16 points, and had to go to overtime to get that many...

And even with that incredibly lucky play on the last play of regulation, Campbell still only put up a 54.2 quarterback rating... without that fluke play, the rating drops to 43.3...

Meanwhile, we saw glimpses of the issues the Skins will have on defense this season as well-- Trent Green put up an 87.5 quarterback rating, completing over 63 per cent of his passes... he was sacked just 2 times in 40 attempts, and really wasn't under much pressure most of the game... and the Skins got just one turnover... the lack of stats and turnovers is a continuation of the problems they had last season...

All in all, it was a lackluster win that could have gone either way, against a rather inferior opponent, on your own field... enjoy it, as I plan on enjoying our win against the Giants, but don't go gettin' too cocky, because I saw nothing yesterday to lead me to change my prediction of a sub-.500 finish by the Skins this year... you guys are just fortunate to have had a rather cushy game for your opener...

I have a hunch the Boys will put up a few more points than 16 on the Fins this coming Sunday, LOL...
