Twitter: Skins offered Cooper $22M per year

After a while is it not just money....:) This level is just crazy. An XFL player makes abot 50,000 a year to do the same job.

This isn't nearly as important as people like to believe. Game checks are taxed based on the city the game is played in.

Yes but he saves 8 games taxes from playing in Texas. Not to mention any endorsements. :D

Players as a rule usually don't pay a lot attention to state income tax but as some here have Coop is a different leaf (lol).

And half of his games are at home.....
Ok. Let's just do rough math.

20m - 16 game checks. Average income tax is 15%

8 home games - 10m
8 road games - 8.5m

A $6.5m difference over the life of a contract for a guy who a) just signed for $100m and b) probably isn't going to see the full length of the contract anyway, is pretty insignificant.

What an idiot Commanders are Based in Maryland. No personal property tax but some local municipalities have an extra income tax which is a percentage of what you owe the state.

I don't know about anyone else, but it doesn't matter the amount saved. $6.5m more over 5 years in you pocket is far better than letting the government having it.

6-8% on 10 million dollars is $600-800K per year.

I'd bet that weather was definitely a factor, and an advantage for the Cowboys.
He really enjoys playing in Dallas.
State of the art practice/training/rehab facilities and stadium. Indoors
He has good relationship with the QB and the team has a balanced offense
Also...no state tax

Actually, their team headquarters is in Loudoun, VA so I’m not sure how the taxes work with them playing home games in Maryland. I would bet both states are getting their share.

But players are greedy .....lol
That's some serious paper he left on the table .......

And he wanted a situation with a better QB.

Literally the opposite of the "we are going to lose Cooper because of Dak" takes that dominated this board.

Everyone will forget about this the first time he doesn't go over 100 yards.

Yep and the close minded Cowboys fans will not recognize that Gallup standing in the middle of the field wide open may have been indirectly caused by the attention placed on Cooper by DCs.

You guys are forgetting the most important factor. No state tax in Texas.
