Its time to put the pipe down and step away.

Do the Cowboys have a full time coddler on staff? Somebody that can stroke his fragile ego around the clock? Can we re-program him so he has the aptitude to play QB in the NFL?

Whats next, bring in Tebow if Chippy cuts him?

Actually, I wouldn't have a problem with that. Tebow has actually taken his team to the playoffs and by all accounts is a great teammate with a terrific work ethic. We could and have done worse (see Orton and Weeden).

Griffin is only 25 and I don't think he'll want to sit on the bench behind Romo until he is 30, so we probably don't even have a shot at him. Besides, the NFL never seems to have enough quarterbacks to go around, so there will be teams that will sign him and let him compete for the starting job, or just give it to him outright, IMO. His career QB rating is 90.6.

90.6...and that was when he was able to actually play.

I feel bad for the guy, but, he just does not have the mentality to handle the Cowboys. Hell, if he cannot make it in Washington, he would get killed here in Dallas where Cowboy fans are fanatic about their QB. It would be a nightmare for not only us fans but for RG3 himself.

Members of the Washington Commanders’ coaching and front office staff are ready to move on from Robert Griffin III, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter and Dianna Russini.

According to the report, “high-ranking” front office officials and coaches want to change quarterbacks, but are being met with resistance from Washington's ownership. The report says the Commanders have had trade conversations with a “handful of NFL teams,” but have found no takers for Griffin.

Griffin's relationship with coach Jay Gruden has reportedly been strained for a long time, though Griffin remains a favorite of owner Dan Snyder. The Commanders selected Griffin No. 2 overall in 2012, after trading numerous draft picks to the St. Louis Rams to move up for him.

Griffin has been plagued with injuries since a successful rookie season. In 2013, he was slowed down as he recovered from knee surgery. Last season, Griffin started only seven games due to ankle issues.

RG3's wheels are coming off...I mean, the way he plays and the way his knee injuries were/are...he is just not a good fit for the Cowboys. He might not be a good fit for any team as a starter...maybe a backup somewhere, but not in Texas.

I don't love Weeden and Vaughn, that is for certain. However, they don't rock the boat and the media isn't constantly asking about them and creating issues.

Flat out no on Griffin. Hell no.

He doesn't have the mind to be an NFL QB. He only played well as a rookie because Shanahan dumbed down the offense for him and took the rest of the league by surprise.

Once defenses figured it out, it was game over for Griffin.

He can't make decisions quickly enough. He can't read defenses. He has zero pocket presence, and he makes piss poor decisions. The only thing he had going for him was his speed, and even that is diminished now.

He's a worse Tebow who lives in fantasy land and thinks he's the best QB in the NFL. He'd rather have his grandmother braid his hair than work on being a better QB.

Uh-uh. Not in a million years would I want him in Dallas.

Here is a crazy thought The last time we drafted a starting top tier QB was wait for it 1989. Since Jimmy left Jerry has NOT drafted a top tier QB in almost 30 years

Jerry took QC in the 2nd round. That's high enough. I wouldn't be surprised if we picked QC with our first round pick in 2001 if we still had it.

But, he found (well not Jerry per say) an UDFA in Romo, and the chances of that happening again is slim to none. The Cowboys better get off their *** and start planning for life without Romo.

Yep ... I think Romo has 2 years remaining. Not too many 38 year old QB's out there. That doesn't leave us too much time to groom someone. I think the dream of Vaughn is over.

Would love to bring him in on a low-cost multi-year deal and use him as trade bait. Think he could fill in for Romo nicely with our system.

Yeah, me too...I think the Vaughn thing is done. However, and it just might be me (which it is lol) but I sort of like that Flowers kid!

Given 2 good performances and an off-season and trust me, he'd be trade bait. Look at all the clowns starting in the league as is.

Then let RG3 the clown go replace the other clowns that you are talking about. lol

Do you really want a bust so far coming to Dallas? Dude! All hell would break loose!

I think he would be a media nightmare the same as if Jonney boy would have got drafted.

However, the Cowboys better start doing something to replace Romo!

The Cowboys draw media attention regardless.

They have a strong locker room.

And an all pro caliber QB who is beloved by his teammates.

No issues whatsoever as far as a distraction.

Why or how is everyone here so convinced hed be a terrible teammate in a new environment? People grow, people change and learn from their mistakes. The guy has pedigree which is why the Skins willingly fleeced themselves to trade up for him.
I think he'd be worth at least trying out as a backup.
Or like I said we can stick with our guy Weeden. He's also still developing

Great plan
He's owed 3 million for this year and 16 million next year
You really want to pay 16 million for a backup QB
Weeden makes 600k this year and nothing next year
