oh good god - express a little doubt and you're all of a sudden lumped in with those saying the season is over.

please take a few to understand my entire stance and not just lob out "chicken little" crap, ok? i agree people are vastly overreacting to a LOT of the positions. i just feel we need to do more to our OL and we had 2 to at least look at we never did. that said, i don't care for this entire direction parcells has us on so 3 days of a FA period don't mean a thing to me other than trying to address a glaring need with a solid/proven player is a good move.

wanna save money? great, we'll resign wiley's of the world and be frugal and not overpay for . . . what was that guys name again - the one getting all the sacks we COULD have had but we weren't going to "overpay".

we're doing it again. that's all. please resume your blind generic insult lobbing.

Can't really handle a joke, huh? Guess I should have used more smilies. Whatever.

oh, i'm pretty sure i can handle a joke. it's just not as easy when someone you DO NOT KNOW lobs the chicken little crap at you when you're NOT running around acting in that way but hey - it's a good one. we've not seen a good chicken little insult in quite a few seconds.

thanks for fixing that.

oh gee - and that retro-hindsight 20/20 thinking is just what we need to prove JUST HOW IT ALWAYS works.

so far like it or not we're doing a sub-par job at filling glaring needs. we're not done yet but we're not doing enough to the OL to make a difference there and if that doesn't vastly improve, we're still just a little above average overall.

well, it's true, the Skins didn't spend money last year and made the playoffs, yet everyone is saying we should look at them now, spending is finally working out for them, when in fact, it's the approach we're taking now, that worked for them last year

except i'm not really "looking" at what the other teams are doing - i don't know their overall needs as well as i do the cowboys.

fact - we've got a qb who needs a stellar line to get the job done.
fact - we don't have have a stellar line.
fact - we've not gone after *any* top 3 or 5 OL FA out there.
fact - bp's overall job on the OL has been pathetic since he's been here.

i'm not as worried about the defense cause hell, we've focused on that for years and ignored the line and the offense. now we've got an aging qb, aging wr's and the top offensive FA we're going to bring in is for 2-3 years also IF it happens.

i don't care what we do elsewhere - if we don't fix the line it's meaningless.

I agree, but look who's out there? only Bentley is worth giving alot of money too, so we wait till the time of huge contracts being thrown around is over, and we sign people relative to their market value

agreed there wasn't a LOT to look at, but hutch and bentley were young and proven and worth the $$$ in the end and would have been that "legitimate" option i was referring to - or at least the attempt.

far as i know we weren't interested in either or didn't make the attempt. now if we cut larry allen and this kosher dude takes his place *are* we a better OL?

i think we need to pull off a trade or make a move to get some legitimate help on the OL otherwise we'll see a repeat of last year with or without superflo.

I agree we need to make another move to fix the line, and it seems like we've only signed 1 of 2 of our OL targets in free agency, so we're not done fixing the line, but until we do something about LA's contract, we really can't put too much more money into there, as him and Rivera are making quite a chunk of change as it is, as well as Flozell, I think LA's situation is another reason why we're moving slowly on the Oline front

you threw a punch but no one noticed. that and you hit yourself with the gurode move.

most of the positions we need to fill have good players there - i just think we wiffed on fixing the OL.

I agree. Hutchinson would have been one guy I would have not minded putting out the bucks for.

I actually prefer Clark over Arch. I think the Skins are making a mistake by not resigning him.

thanks for the opening Bro..

Maybe it would be easier to get rid of Bledsoe...

lets see with the crappest o-line (2003) Q.Carter was sacked 37/185 than with also a crap o-line (2004) Vinny was sacked 34/182 and with this brilliant o-line Bill has built these last 3 years(2005) Bledsoe was sacked 49/295...

(You would think if I repeat this enough times people would start paying attention)

so where is the problem really...is it the o-line? is it the QB? or is it Bill?

It has been my contention all along that the o-line isn't as crappy as people think...the smell everyone is smelling is coming from behind the center...

Yeah, even under all that pressure, he still passed for record yardage
(3,639), and posted one of the the highest QB ratings of his career and ended up with 23 TD passes to only 17 interceptions, two of which came on Hail Mary passes at the end of the half or game, and three others came off the hands of open receivers first.

You're right dude, it's all Bledsoes fault. Either him or George Bush.

Well, Irvin didn't try to shoot anyone, maybe you don't see a difference?

Taylor shot at no one.

In fact, the only people who say he pulled a gun were the punks who robbed him. Then, they proceeded to shoot up Taylor's friends house.

Taylor and his lawyers contend it was nothing but a fist fight.

I was reading something about how injuries plus Lovie Smith leaving had something to do with his play falling off. Apparently Lovie wanted him in Chicago too...

I don't know. I always thought he was decent, but I haven't followed him much lately...

Yeah, two of the top four defensive coaches in the league made him their top priority. He must really suck.

Not to be rude, but people like you wish that. The rest realize that we're 3 days into free agency. There are still alot of quality players out there, including a certain game-changer, who I don't want to talk about. Do you honestly believe the Cowboys have no plan? That they're sitting around with their thumbs in their butts at Valley Ranch? You wish it was us signing all these "names", who are actually very mediocre players to huge contracts, because you haven't come to the grips with the fact that that particular method of operations does not work. Never has, and until proven otherwise, never will. Enjoy the Skins signings....the gloating that will be available when their huge expectations crash and burn - again - will be worth the price of admission.

If TO is the plan, I pity the naive Cowboy coaches and fans.

bledsoe DOES compound the problem - only the superduperdrewcrew continues to blame the world for the repeat performances and not their boy. but we have no choice but to finish this bad ride bill started.

i loved bill when he got here. i hated it when he said "i've no time to develop young qb's..."

and since the end of TWO years ago when in garbage time he let NO ONE replace even vinny who we knew wouldn't last or was our answer we simply missed opportunities for our young qb's to even hit the field. so far i've never "forgiven" bill for that and he's been just as stubborn under bledsoe as well.

our problem is overall philosophy and direction. we're in some hybred "win now" mode except on defense where he seems to feel young players CAN step up and play.

bills record is simply - "what it is". it ain't good and i'm growing tired of the excuses.

flo going out killed us last year. name ANY OTHER YEAR flo going out would hurt that much?

they spanked us last year.
they made it to and far into the playoffs.
they're making moves at least *they* think they need to make.

we're arguing over our lack of effort (visible) and their (too much) effort. i'd rather be spending our time talking about the moves we're making to shore up our holes and sans that to talk about, what else is there right now?
