Snow White

I haven't gone in years. To be honest even pre virus thingy it got old going to watch a movie and idiots are screaming non stop during horror movies or the people in front of you pull their phone out on 90% brightness.

I have no issue waiting for it to be rented or free. It's not a money thing, more of a I don't want to be surrounded by strangers watching a movie any more.
I can wait 6 months to watch the big blockbuster. For Dr. Doom, I can wait to stream it
Also, you can't pause to go to the bathroom, in a theater.

Well the funny thing about that is that's the 8th adaption of that story. The most famous adaption is the 8th one. Which is kind of my point. Things evolve. I've never seen the 1908 version of it so who knows maybe its better....
Yea but you're talking about silent films vs sound films in that case. Also if you're going to do a remake then do one on a film that wasn't very good. No reason to remake classics.

I agree but I think that’s sort of what they did. Adapted to live action. Doesn’t seem to be fairing too well I think the main issue is how much was spent. If a film makes 200 million that should be a win. Why are studios spending 400 on these type of properties?

arrogance and hubris

that describes Disney now

between Captain America Brave new world fighting to reach break even status and now the disaster that is Snow White, will they finally be humbled? I doubt it.

I'm not sure if it's arrogance and hubris, or desperation and incompetence.

They seem to think that it's formulaic: Just take something that worked once or twice, and do the same thing with everything else.

This tidbit I found

https://www.forbes.com/sites/caroli...isney-saved-555-million-on-snow-white-remake/

The budget AT THAT TIME, before reshoots like the infamous dwarf vs bandit mess and others was $270 million. They got $56 million in tax credits from the UK
BUT this was filed on October 31, 2023. Everything spent after that date is not part of this.
So this does not include all that was spent in 2024 and in 2025 marketing the movie.

so their claim the total cost of the movie as $270 million is low.

considering how many they have put out in the last five years that have not worked, they need a new formula

Which ones haven’t worked? I’m looking at rotten tomatoes and it’s interesting the audiences love the films but the critics don’t. Critics also see the movie free and the fans pay. I don’t think Disney will change anything aside from their Marvel film division which will be ran by the Russo brothers.

Saw a post the other day on Facebook that Disney was doing an Old Yeller remake and the poster was of a black lab....LOL

I know, completely inappropriate but I got a good laugh out of it

yeah I mean to me that’s just crap but I’m sure it turned some people away. Ziegler better watch it before she is relegated to just Tubi movies.
I think the studios will have long memories in regards to her. She has basically crapped over everyone and to this day is still in wide open mouth mode. *** her…

I recently (a day or two ago) saw a clip of her doing some kind of YouTube or TikTok video, in which she seems to recognize what an idiot she's been. Whether she was being genuine or not, I don't know.

actually you might want to take another look at Rotten Tomatoes.

You talking about the electric state?

As far as Disney goes.
How many times do they need to redo the movies. Whether that means changing the story or making a live action version of them

I mean come on.
I think they're struggling mightily and don't know what to do. Taking sides was just so dumb.

actually its pretty well known to anyone that bothers to look.
BUT get this:
a flop is a movie that just breaks even
A DISASTER is a movie that loses millions
AN EPIC DISASTER is a movie that loses hundreds of millions

and I am glad you do not care.

Yeah, it sounds like it was an EPIC FAILURE

I see a 74 percent on my end.
and you are not aware of the way to read that site. But I am not surprised.

however here is an explanation.

but more than that, you will find the vast majority of reviews by those that have gone to see it and not been exactly thrilled

but you are also ignoring how badly it is doing at the box office.

people in the seats
